Or how about about a new system where you can login to iPlayer with your own account, subscribe to specific shows, then be alerted of new episodes when you login.
Improvements to BBC Local Radio online 4:27pm on 19 Aug 2009 It's great to hear that moving the local live radio streams away from Real Player is still on the cards. I was going to listen to the Leeds game last night on BBC Radio Leeds, but I just gave up after the little iPlayer pop-up told me "To play BBC Leeds please first install Real Player." (I refuse to install that circa-1996 spyware on my computer).

One other thing, if the all the live streams are going to be upgraded to AAC, does that mean we might see BBC radio stations listed in the 'Radio' section on iTunes, and maybe even a 'BBC Radio' iPhone app?
BBC HD: Wimbledon and some Top Gear questions 1:39pm on 03 Jul 2009 Top Gear is in my opinion, the most incredibly shot programme on the BBC. I'm always interested to see what effects and shots are used when one of the guys reviews a new car. I think both these reviews and the footage of races the team have across the globe would look brilliant in HD. You only have to watch the polar special that was shot in HD to see the possibilities.

Is the live TV and radio coming over 3G or WiFi?

Also, are there any plans to roll the live functionality out to the iPhone?
