Can O2 cope with smartphone traffic? 7:31pm on 07 Jul 2009 In London I virtually always get 3G coverage from o2, but the speed is very poor.

Things really stood out on a recent holiday to Iceland. While roaming, I was able to synchronise over a hundred emails with a London host server in about 5 seconds. Back home on o2, that would take at least 2 minutes.
Changes to international pages 01:04am on 13 Jun 2009 You don't really need to make these changes - you either a) really want to make them and are using technology as an excuse to justify taking away a choice or b) just need to hire some more competent technical architects.

I'm one of the many who work in the UK but have their Internet connection routed through overseas servers, and there are no benefits whatsoever to this for me.

Having a link to UK news is less bad than it could have been, but is still worse than it used to be.

Hiding the existence of content not available overseas is far worse than displaying messages that it is not available when you are really physically in the UK. At least before, I knew that there was more content and I could come back to the page when on a true UK internet connection to see it; now, I don't even know there is additional content to come back for.

I don't think even a combined effort from Gordon Brown and Bob Crowe could come up with something this unpopular!
Who owns the train times - or the news? 6:26pm on 25 Mar 2009 Regarding the Washington post figures, those 750,000 subscribers will receive the paper every day of the month, and will probably at least glance at every page and see the adverts on it. 750,000 people x 30 days x 80 pages = 1.8 billion page views. Given that many copies will be read by multiple people in a household, 3 billion is probably closer to the actual number of pages read.

Those 8 million unique web visitors would have to read 375 pages each per month to generate the same exposure to adverts which they are unlikely to do - I'd imagine a fair percentage only visit a single page from a search result, so to me the comparison of advertising revenues looks reasonable.

I'd like to start by congratulating England Women on their excellent year so far. 12 consecutive wins (when not rained off) against New Zealand, the West Indies, South Africa and India, two of them by 10 wickets and one by 225 runs. Additionally, Sarah Taylor has captured three international records: youngest player to reach 1,000 runs, highest score by a wicket keeper and, with Caroline Atkins, highest partnership.

Therefore, it surprises me to read several recent news articles that say England Women are ranked 4th in the world, and India 2nd. Is this correct? I suspect the press may be misquoting seedings for the world cup made last year as current rankings. Do official ICC women's rankings actually exist? I can't find them published anywhere online.

The only women's rankings I've found are an unofficial set maintained by Shane Booth, which rate England as the number one side:

Also, in the 2nd game of the series, Indian opener Jaya Sharma hit a 32-ball duck. I've read Runako Morton hit a men's ODI record 31-ball duck for the West Indies against Australia in 2006. Is there a longer duck recorded in any form of limited overs cricket?
