Left shaking by Brown revelation 6:02pm on 13 Oct 2009 I missed the wobbly foot, but saw the ice white trousers... niiiiice.

My advice would be to Arsene Wenger. I'd say, "Arsene, whenever one of your players is about to do something remotely dodgy or underhand on the pitch, don't look away. Instead, stare directly at the incident and absorb the images into your brain. Then, when questioned on MOTD you won't have to endure the embarassment of not having seen the incident."

I'm not sure he'll take any notice though...

Throwaway remark costs me dear 12:37pm on 24 Sep 2009 That's quite a funny story about a chav taking the time to write in and criticise your dodgy footwear. He'd probably never seen any products outside of an Argos catalogue!

I saw Focus last week and to be honest, I can't even remember your shirt so it couldn't have been that bad.

I'd like to see more stories about the players and managers. The Arsenal thing was very interesting and you can see why Wenger doesn't seem to want to leave Arsenal. He's involved with almost every aspect of the club.

I think stories such as dressing room activity (like Keowns body-popping) or strange superstitions of players would be quite interesting. Also, you always seem to get a one-dimensional view of managers from the media. I really like stories that show managers as who they are. I'm sure some of them are quite witty and funny, but you never get to see that in the post-match interview or the pre-game press conference...

I liked Bellamys slap on that fan though. Just like Adebayors celebration, he likes to interact with the fans. That has to be commended. We don't want players to live in ivory towers now do we? :-)

Also, how come Mark Hughes was surprised that the ref played Fergie Time at OT? Surely of all people he'd know that if Manu are not winning at OT, you play on until they score. Isn't that a Premier League directive? It's right under the bit that states Mike Riley is not allowed to be consistent with his bookings... :-)

It was a great game regardless of the result.
Northern Ireland looking good for 2010 qualification 4:37pm on 04 Sep 2009 Phew, I finally waded through all those political comments about Celts, supporting England (wtf??!?!) and the bitterness.

I think it's going to be hard for us to qualify. Clearly we're punching above our weight as Steve points out. It's down to the team spirit. It proves that you don't have to have the best of players to win anything. Which is probably why England haven't done anything decent since, well we all know when since we're constantly reminded at every turn. :-)

But fellow fans, we can also be accused of dining out on beating Spain in Valencia and of course doing the English at Windsor Park. So let's not throw stones at that glass house.

England and ROI got comparatively easy groups so you would expect them to qualify. If we don't at least we can move the the rankings and maybe get an easier group next time. So if we don't qualify, we can still benefit from finishing 3rd.

I really hope we qualify - would be great to go to a finals again...

In the 8 seconds that Lawro is there but the cameras aren't on, can you ask him to take a couple of Prozac? Honestly, he's so downbeat and depressed. Maybe it's just because Liverpool haven't won the title in about 50 years... :-(

You're right. People seem to have missed the fact that for the first 10 mins manu were actually pretty good. Then Eto'o scored and it was as if the players weren't prepared for it. It was as if they didn't know how to deal with conceeding an early goal.

I'm not a manu fan and was pleased to see them beaten, but I don't think it was as bad as what people are saying. Barca grew in confidence and you could see alot of manu players getting frustrated. They failed to keep it together mentally.

They did turn up, they just shrank when things didn't go as planned.
Hats off to Luton after Wembley thriller 1:48pm on 06 Apr 2009 #34 has summarized the situation quite well. It seems the football league sees punishing new owners and fans for old regimes financial mistakes. It's happened to many clubs now.

It's ironic that the people who make these mistakes can come back into football with minimal penalties, yes the mess they leave takes years of hard work to clean up.

Publicity Pete was on the radio the other day giving it loads about someone throwing a coin at Cardiff. Even though this is disgraceful behaviour, the mere fact that this guy is allow to be chairman of another football club, while the club he leaves in a mess is still trying to recover.

The Football league should punish the culprits, not players and fans.
