Player and McIlroy play the Generation Game 3:47pm on 07 Apr 2009 As I am from Northern Ireland, I hope McIlroy has a great tournament. It would be excellent to see him gunning for victory down the stretch. What I like about the masters, is that the cream most definately comes to the top. How many times have somewhat 'unknowns' competed for and sometimes won the Open (Curtis, Hamilton, Rocca..etc). For me this is what makes the masters special, not to mention the fact the course looks simply immaculate on the TV!

In response to the comment by coxy0001. I ask you this, where would the game of golf be, without the likes of Player, Palmer, Nicklaus? The answer: Nowhere. He and his compatriots have earned their right to appear at Augusta year after year, and long may that tradition continue.

I am a Sports Journalism grad with a similar writing style to yourself. I was wondering could you help or advise me as to how I could get my pieces printed.

Otherwise, I may end up working for more employers than Marcus Bent has over the last ten years.

O, and to Chazz_Rheinhold, correct me if I am wrong but is your blogging name not the same as Will Ferrell's character in wedding Crashers. I.e the guy who crashed funerals to sleep with girls? Who is the imbecile now?

Robbo is a legend and there is nothing wrong with a little light hearted journalism. Dare I say it..especially, when the current financial and economical climate seems to be dragging everyone down with it.
Liverpool send out title message 10:59am on 27 Oct 2008 Fair play, Liverpool have ended Chelsea's four-year home record. Regrettably I would rather have watched the Eastenders Omnibus than this game. At least Arsenal, Chelsea and United give it a go. It seems Liverpool enjoy playing a flat back ten. If that wins them the league, good luck to them. Lets just hope not to many of their games are televised though.

Is their current team really much better than this? By my reckoning these players have all been sold by Spurs in recent years. I do feel as well, that from this list, the loss of Carrick has hurt Spurs the most. They lack a quality holding midfield player who can play the killer ball. As a man united fan it is clear to see that our team suffers when carrick is injured. Spurs, in my opinion have become a feeder club, which they should never be. Based in London, not strapped for cash and steeped in history, you have to wander where it all went wrong?
Walcott and Capello stun Croatia 11:26am on 11 Sep 2008 Phil, I am not an england fan, but for once enjoyed the way they played last night. They were arsenal-esque at times. Frank Lampard's disallowed goal in particular showed just how good england can be when they string some good short passes together. And dare I say it, they looked balanced. Joe Cole is far more comfortable than Gerrard on the wing, and Walcott has been a revalation. Sadly though it's back to the same old question:Lampard or Gerrard? last night showed that only one of them can play at once and its time to make that decision Mr Capello. Look at Spain in the Euros. Arragonnes knew he couldn't play Xavi and Fabregas, so he picked one. Their team benefitted as a result and they ended up winning the tournament. For me, I would have Lampard in the team over Gerrard. Sadly Stevie G isn't the talisman for England, and I feel he struggles to find the form that almost single handedly won Liverpool a champions league and an FA cup in the last 5 years. Lampard for me, provides a genuine goal threat, and with Rooney seemingly coming deeper and deeper, this is vital as he will fill the gap left by the number 10. I'd be interested to hear what you other bloggers think? As for Owen, he should be in the squad, but he doesn't fit the system Fabio Capello wants to play, certainly from the start anyway. How refreshing to see a manager that picks a formation and then the players he wants to fill each position, and not the other way around. Something that has perhaps held England back over the years?
A crucial week for Spurs 2:44pm on 27 Aug 2008 Before the start of every new season everyone associated with the media allways predicts that spurs will be the main challengers to the so-called 'big four'. They have only come close on one occasion that I can remember:the 2005/06 season when they lost out narrowly to Arsenal

What did the board do in the aftermath of this? Sold their most influential player:Michael Carrick, to Man Utd. It is a world class defensive midfielder that Spurs need, not Andrei Arshavin.

Spurs are becoming a feeder club, just look at keane to liverpool and the imminent transfer of berbatov. I feel sorry for Ramos and any Spurs manager for that matter. How can they be expected to succeed when after every season there is an exodus of match winners?
Who should get a Ryder Cup wildcard? 2:33pm on 27 Aug 2008 The ryder cup requires winners and aggressive golfers. In my opinion Clarke has to be there as the European team is a little inexperienced. I feel neither Casey nor Poulter have played well enough to deserve a pick. The latter's decision to play in the fedex cup baffles me as well. If I were in his position I would have travelled to Gleneagles on Sunday evening and practised as much as possible in order to play well over the 4 days. However I am not a pro and who am I to question Mr Poulter's schedule?

For me the two have to be clarke and ross fisher. Fisher would be dominant in fourballs. He is a huge hitter, and having one the European open this year his confidence levels must be sky high.

I will eat every hat I own if monty gets picked.

Madejski right to hit out at wages 4:55pm on 21 Aug 2008 I disagree with madejski. Television companies across the world pay hundreds of millions of pounds for premier league television rights. The player's are the star of the show, and the Lampard's, Ronaldo's, Gerrard's are what people want to see. Put it this way, when Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Robert de Niro etc star in films they get paid more than say someone making their film debut. This is because they are the big attraction. If all the superstars left the premier league and went to Serie A, they would recieve all the revenue, thus leaving English clubs with less money and forcing them to pay the mediocre players they have been left with much less. Is this what Madejski wants? A league with average players earning average money? Oh and you get what you pay for..Perhaps if Mr Madejski brought in some players and paid them these 'so-called' ludicrious wages then Reading would have stayed up, thus saving him 22 million pounds in the long run. Something to think about if they get promoted this season perhaps?
Golf and the Olympics, not as daft as it seems 4:41pm on 21 Aug 2008 Grumpyoldred..have a search on the internet and see if you can find who the highest earning SPORTSMAN in the world was last year..T Woods perhaps? What sport does he play I hear you cry?...GOLF. It clearly is a sport and it just shows how great the sport is, the fact that people of all ages can compete.
