Torres, Drogba or Rooney - who's the best? 5:01pm on 02 Oct 2009 They are great strikers.
But what about Etoo, Forlan and maybe even Henry.

Etoo has scored in 2 champ league finals.
Forlan has won European top scorer twice both times beating Etoo.
Henry may not be as good as during his Arsenal days but he is still scoring goals for club and country and considered one of the best scorers in Premier League history,

Also for all his critics and his poorer goal to game ratio.
Raul still scores and is still the top Championsleague goalscorer

Its great for England to win.
Fair play but hearing people go a bit over the top with the celebrations. Itss a game that only involves 2 countries.
You either win or lose between the 2.
Nobody else is involved.

If England ever win the world cup (Football or any other sport), I assume they will all be knighted because I assume it will be harder to beat more than 1 nation.

Two claims that refs may or may not give (50/50) which was the handball by Pique and Drogba's foul by Abidal.
And one that was not.
Yes Chelsea can complain but that is football.
As neutral I didn't care who won but after seeing how Chelsea players act during and after match, I am glad Barca won.

The behaviour afterwards was not what you expect from football professionals.
It was a disgrace (as Drogba put it) by those players.
The cursing by Drogba was unbeliveable especially on live television watched by millions including young kids.
Its not like he said it and was caught on camera by accident.
He went up to camera to say it.
Hopes this unprofessional person get a good lengthy ban by UEFA.
A fine is useless cause they are rich anyway and can afford it.
Keeping it real at the Lakeside 04:26am on 09 Jan 2009 Personally my favourite darts player is Barney. Don't really like Phil taylor.
Yes I know he is not as good as Taylor but everybody has there own team/player to support no matter if he is champion or not.

When Barney was at BDO, wasn't he pretty much top seed there most year, now and again seeded number 2.
I know seeding means nothing to winning it but generally it means Barney was practically the best player on the BDO circuit to be seeded 1 so many times and winning it multi-times too.
If I remember clearly when Barney was at BDO, Adams never won any World Title.

Vs taylor, he seems to lose to him more than he beats Taylor.
Suggesting Taylor is the best and I am assuming has a great chance of winning BDO if he ever competes in it.
Keeping it real at the Lakeside 01:52am on 08 Jan 2009 I am not a big darts follower but when the BDO championship at Lakeside starts on BBC once every year, I do follow it.

However the players I really follow and entertain me are all gone to PDC.
Watched the Sky coverage and am watching the BBC BDO games.
Maybe its the commentary or the level of play but BDO does not entertain me as in the past.
I have no idea who most of those players are, I actually fell asleep watching them.
Poor quality really, and the people sitting around the dart board is not the reason I watch darts.

yes Sky glam up the PDC stuff but I think overall they really are better period.
Barney was probably the top player at BDO and one of the guys I follow. He is still great but defintely not top dog at PDC.

English elite face Euro test 02:36am on 12 Dec 2008 People should really give this a rest.
Everybody has their own team to support and their favourite to win the Champion's League.
Maybe ye can talk about about (wait I mean argue, A LOT) once it gets closer to May.

Usually the group stages are not what determines who wins or gets to the final anyway.
Most team get enough points to just qualify, whether 1st or 2nd.
It doesn't matter until the knockout phase for most managers anyway.

Hell you could play all 6 group match win 6 and score a load of goals.
it makes for good reading on paper but nobody can maintain form like that for a whole season. The greats of the past have their ups and downs, so what makes these teams go 6 months invinsible.
I personally say, they peaked too soon.

People say Barcelona, Man Utd, Chelsea, but there is still more than 2 months to the knock out stage,
Injuries, poor form, arguments, suspensions (Rooney possible banning for foul play?) can dictate who really is gonna do well.

Can we talk about something else now,
Until at least next Friday until the draw is announced.

Porto proved that in 2004.
Yes some teams have more chance than others such as Man Utd, Barca, Chelsea etc.

But that is why football is such a great game.
It is not gaurantee that they will win it.
Any team can beat anybody else with luck, determination and hard work. (skill too).

People seem to suggest that English teams are gauranteed to win it or get to the final at least.
Would they put their house on the line for that. Doubt it.

Nobody knows who will win it.
I wouldn't be shocked to see Bayern vs Real or Juventus vs Lyon.
Its not a huge possibility but there is a chance.

They have the money.
Whether they will win the Champions League is another story.

People say they have dominated the Champions League the past few years but they only won 2 this decade.
Plus how English players actually wins this competition, not many to my calculation, and if Arsenal win it, even less.

But football is a weird game.
The David vs Goliath situation is common and often enough Goliath is not victorious.
Barcelona are favourites and with their style of football, the neutrals favourites as well.

I would not be suprise to see Real Madrid, as poor as they are go far, or the Italian team do well. Or Bayern etc. Least we know one thing, Spain and Italy will always be a threat, winning the European Championship and World Cup respectively is proof. Didn't see England win those!!
Chinese Democracy 8:16pm on 25 Nov 2008 Why do people keep on telling other countries how to rule.

Its not like USA is heaven.
Unemployment rates sky high, financial corporations in troubles, the big three car makes asking for help, not to mention high crime rates, invasion of another country and low popularity worldwide.

Yes Obama will change some of these perceptions and problems but if anything we should ask America to behave properly rather then calling for democracy in other nations.

China is not really one of the world problems.
Other countries are more problematic, like Zimbabwe, North Korea and I mention the countries that were invaded?
We should work together and help solve these issues, not start them.
Beckham gambling in Milan 01:12am on 23 Oct 2008 I am not a fan of Beckham.

However for all his extravagence off the pitch, one cannot question his commitment on it. And his love for his country.
Their might be some small ulterior motives, such as the record caps but I do believe this is not his reason for wanting to play for England at his age.

If all players had his professionalism (not lifestyle of course) and dedication to playing for his country, that country, no matter which one would be brilliant.

Fair play to him for trying.
And he is one of the few English, British, Irish to actually try another league.
Not like Robbie Keane and co who couldn't last 1 month in a foreign country.
