Can Darling kickstart lending? 10:39am on 27 Nov 2008 Very disappointed with you , Robert. You like your fellow journo's failed to quiz the Chancellor on what he has not done to kick-start the housing market. A stamp duty threshold of say £400K ..exempt would hve done the trick. All tha money he is spending from borrowing will go down the plug hole. Meantime, vey disappointed with, especially , you.
Massive mortgage squeeze 1:03pm on 25 Nov 2008 I am disappointed with you. I care less abouit the other financial journalists who have been crowing about other trivia.
But i expected you to come ouit charging..and damn the Chancellor for NOT addressing the housing slump. All he nedded to do was raise the the stamp duty threshold for a year to say £400K..and he could have kept the rest of his borrowed money.
That would have got the housng markety going again.
NOT A SINGLE JOURNO..mentioned that.
Any previous attempt has failed as this govt surely will.

Whats all this gobbledegook that this government is on about with just a bit of spit and chewing gum.
They deserve to be booted out for their dithering and failing to see that the housing market required their most urgent attention. Increasing the stamp duty threshold to say £400K for one year and demanding that banks start issuing new mortgages would have gone a long way to kick-starting the serious slump.

Other than that....let's have a general election and get rid of this government now.

Why interest rates aren't falling 09:48am on 10 Nov 2008 Why has it been so difficult for the media to press the governent to re-think on stamp duty. Now tht the Bank of E has done their job, surely if thegovernment increases the threshold of stamp duty to £2750K....even for a year..then...new home buyers will come forward, esp in the South East. Maybe even cancel out HIPs too.
Auntie's dilemma 11:10am on 31 Oct 2008 I am sick to my back teeth how the BBC tries to defend itself and not take the right and harsh decisions to first sack Ross, then sack the Snr Executive who agreed his contract, then in turn sack every single head of Dept that is involved with it.
My question has long been..where will any of these hangers on go to work....if they are not employed at these ridiculous wages by the BBC? Comedy2?

We hear her voice doing interviews and sometimes, we are treated to a tight close-up.
What a pity, and it's 30 degrees in the shade, there.
