The Goodwin pension questions 6:08pm on 26 Feb 2009 Not only is RBS paying Goodwin this ridiculous pension, they are also continuing to pay his security costs. Now, as the British tax payer owns RBS, surely we have some say in that....
Bonus buck stops with Brown 11:28am on 06 Feb 2009 If bonuses are to be paid out in any cases, the board should look very carefully at the behaviours the bonus is rewarding. If these are behaviours that have led to the current situation then the bonus should reflect that. If they are behaviours that will help to add value to the bank then that should be reflected. In any case, any bonuses should be targeted to getting the banking group out of its current mess e.g. only to those staff the bank wants to keep, paid in shares, contingent on continued service over the next 2-3 years (or whatever). I'd be tempted to say the number of shares should be based on their peak vale over the last 12 months (that should reduce them in line with my pension!)
BBC iPlayer: series stacking 09:54am on 18 Sep 2008 Why isn't QI put on to BBCi? I can't watch it in its proper slot so, since with BBCi and CatchUp TV I've stopped recording anything, I never get to see it now. What has happened?
Gradually putting silver in perspective 11:26am on 22 Aug 2008 This is the attitude of a winner and I'm so proud of all the amazing performances that Team GB have put in. I was a bit ambivalent about the Olympics coming to my back yard but I'm going to try what I can to get me and the children there in 2012 just for the inspiration!
Shanaze's golden gamble ends in blood and bruises 11:17am on 22 Aug 2008 BMX seems to have provided entertainment and a spectacle - much like Monster trucks, synchronised swimming and beach volleyball (though I have a feeling that one of those may not be an olympic sport - yet). Does this make it a demonstration of the peak of athletic achievement? Don't see it myself....
