Regarding American characters in Doctor Who; what about Capt Jack? He was popular enough to get his own show.
A triumph of justice? 1:21pm on 15 Nov 2009 Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians killed because of the america-led invasion (not war - invasion). The kind of devastation that makes 9/11 look like a misdemeanour. No justice for them; not today, not tomorrow, not ever. No trial for the instigators of this atrocity, bush, blair, cheney, rumsfield and their ilk - they have a future of wealth and security to look forward to. I sometimes find myself hoping that Hell is more than just a myth.

And why have I never heard a single mention from an American regarding the massive civilian casualties in Iraq and Afganistan. Not once, not ever. The only figure they ever mention is the far smaller number of American casualties. The message is simple - if you're not American, you're no-one. And they wonder why they're unpopular

Because it's a convenient scapegoat, one that's easy to sell to the idiot public.

Regarding this Hasan guy and a suitable punishment (should he be found guilty). William Calley, who was convicted for 22 counts of murder for his part in the My Lai massacre (500 men, women and children murdered, fact fans) was, ah, condemned to three years house arrest for his crimes (he did say he was sorry though). Working on the same sort of scale Hasan should get about 18mths house arrest (but only if he says sorry - and means it). Anyone got a problem with that?

OK, the people that Calley murdered weren't Americans (they weren't even caucasian) but surely that doesn't make a difference - does it?
