Is Phelps really the greatest? 5:37pm on 13 Aug 2008 As it's nigh on impossible to compere a swimmer with an archer or a table tennis player etc. why bother?

Yes Michael Phelps is an amazing athlete and has the greatest tally of gold medals and is certainly one of the great Olympians.
