Trying to uncover the Paralympic legacy 03:49am on 12 Sep 2008 I find it strange that the BBC has to send out reporters to find out about disablities in China and yet can't coverage of the paralympics on the front page of the website.

The chinese media have given a decent coverage of the sporting events. Not as much as the Olympics, but not bad.

The BBC web site, well I woud have thought that you would have been highlighting the success of the athletes, you did for the Olympics................

Perhaps more time should be spent in finding out whether ordinary people in Britain have changed thier attitudes to people with disablities as a result of the paralympics.

I can only hope that these athletes will also be given a parade in London. They deserve it!
A glorious opening in Beijing 01:44am on 07 Sep 2008 I teach English in Northwest China, and some of my students asked if they could come to my place to watch the opening cermony. (they had to leave before the flame came in to the stadium)

We all loved it, but my favourite comment was the one made by a student who said "They should have the paralympics first!"

order of entrance was based on the strokes in the characters, not alphabetical order.

It was a lot of fun and a great opening cermony.
China for gold, Britain for bronze? 03:08am on 22 Aug 2008 Honestly,I am glad that we have done well, I don't think it matters about where the brits are on the medal table.

Rather we should enjoy the medals we have won.
Not quite what we thought 03:05am on 13 Aug 2008 I watched the opening cermony on TV in China and to be honest I had thought at the time that the shots of the fireworks over Beijing looked fake at the time.

Cool, but fake, mainly because I had noticed in the run up how poor visiblity was when they CCTV showed live pictures of the Birds nest.

As for the girl miming to someone elses singing I am glad that folks know that this happened so that the singer can also be credited for the performance.

I can understand the Chinese wanting everything to look perfect, this was after all a case of the whole world watching them.
