Music Lesson 8:15pm on 25 Sep 2009 I'm a serious swimmer (hence the pseudonym) and I cannot watch anyone pretending to swim on film, or on TV for that matter, without getting really annoyed.

I guess we all have our little pet obsessions. It's just that some of us can let go.

I wish I could. Watching Baywatch would have been so much more enjoyable.

It is the objective measure of box office takings that is used to chart films week after week.

But then where would we be without the 'box office top ten' starting the show every week?
That's wittertainment 12:26pm on 16 Sep 2009 I am disappointed that the Sony Award winning Kermode and Mayo wittertainment is not being expanded to at least three hours on a Friday, with an hourly update every weekday.

I presume it is a similar disappointment that Dr Mayo displays in this clip.

Terminator Redemption? 11:39am on 23 Jun 2009 On the subject of the Good Doctor's pro-horror / anti-action bias, I do not agree. Lots of horror films and action films get a slating, but then lots of horror films and action films deserve it.

However, when it comes to comedy films I do think Dr Kermode can be unusually harsh in some cases. True, there are lots and LOTS of really bad comedy films released on a regular basis, but I'm struggling to recall any out-and-out comedies in recent years that have been strongly recommended.

In the Loop, for example, is a very smart satire and well received, but not an out-and-out comedy.
Press, politics and the art of going big screen 4:39pm on 28 Apr 2009 I think it's easy to say films like The Fugitive with Harrison Ford are better than the TV series, because the TV series of often pretty rubbish.

Although I disagree on Twiwn Peaks, I am struggling to think of another CELEBRATED TV show (episodic or otherwise) that ever generated a greater movie version of itself?

The only thing I can think of is M*A*S*H - but it depends on how you view the film.

How dare you besmirch the good name of the Academy Awards.

They have a long and glorious history of recognising those films that are TRULY great going right the way back to 1941 when the unforgettable How Green Was My Valley triumphed over that confusing, flashy vanity project Citizen Kane.

Our final 10 to watch 07:27am on 05 Aug 2008 Contrary to what your article says, I don't think Liam Tancock will be too worried by the threat of Randall Bal - what with him not qualifying for the Olympics.

I would have thought Matt Grevers, who beat Bal and Lochte in the 100 back at the US Trials would represent more of a problem.
