A day in the life of the Head of BBC HD 5:52pm on 03 Nov 2009 I would love to see spooks in HD.

I think its a great entertaining drama and was disappointed that the latest series doesn't appear to be in HD.
Picture Quality on BBC HD: a response 7:15pm on 21 Sep 2009 I am a Virgin Media V+ customer.

I run all feeds through my Onkyo AV Amp TX-SR 875 via HDMI and I have had re-occurring audio drop outs throughout Strictly Come Dancing.
All audio and picture is spot on before and after the programme.It seemed to me that the drop outs were NOT random but very similar in duration between each drop out.
I have no problems with any other BBCHD programmes or with any other programmes either HD or SD.
BBC HD: What Works Best? 10:43am on 25 Sep 2008 as you mention its such a shame that merlin wasn't shown in HD as it would have looked great.
I read somewhere that the reasoning behind this was to do broadcasting the special effects .how true this is im not sure.
With strictly come dancing the results show at least it means theres something to look forward too when HD handheld's are more readily available.
On my last note I too am a great fan of hereos and am extremely disappointed that we arn't going to see the first episodes in HD.
Like many others surely silent witness could be re scheduled.

Has the on screen graphics/Idents been improved?.I noticed when BBC HD was a trial channel some of the graphics were poor yet they seem alot smoother around the edges in particular.

Dolby 5.1 sounding sounding great here and HD picture quality fantastic.This is how it is really done any other broadcaster should sit up and take note how to do it properly.
I had noticed that it was in the same format yesterday but cant remember any earlier.
Was it sorted today or yesterday?
I liked the gymnastics where a particular move was shown broken down through its elements.great insight on just how difficult these moves are.

I am waiting/hoping that is a metadata problem as its making me wonder if something is wrong with my setup.
As previously mentioned all channels audio/video are fine.
I'm a avid BBC HD user as its the only HD channel I have access to but also because its got great programmes on it ( Heroes,Wild China, Six Nations, Wimbledon,etc,etc) all of which seem perfectly fine.
My provider is Virginmedia and I have their V+ PVR set top box.
I have a Bluray player aswell as the above all of which do not/have ever had this issue.
I cannot comment on the Eurovision issue as I never watched it.
On a seperate issue how likely is it we would have DD 5.1 on say the six nations rugby event (live events)?.
Oh by the way keep up the good work with the blog as it very interesting and talked about elsewhere on other dedicated HD blogs i visit.
BBC HDTV: "The BBC's Bold Trial Of Reverse Karaoke!" 12:36pm on 03 Aug 2008 Really interesting post especially as I have noticed a problem with Last Choir Standing.

My av amp is working fine (recently upgraded to latest firmware by authorised dealership) and I can listen to all other BBC HD programmes but for the second week running the sound output has been zero on this programme only, although interestingly enough the amp shows a 2 channel signal detected.If I flick to bbc 1 sound is there, flick back and dolby 2.0 channel stereo is shown but no actual sound however high i increase the volume.

My AV amp is a Onkyo TX-SR875

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.
