Making new headlines 8:04pm on 26 Nov 2009 Lewis, generally I love the scope and depth of the sports coverage. But the thing that really winds me up is to see different headlines during the day or week for what is essentially the same story, with nothing more than a couple of new sentences added. To be fair to the sports website, this is a fault of the BBC website generally. If there is a genuine new development then by all means create a new article, but I waste a lot of my time checking out stuff that looks new but isn't.

On a more positive note, it was great to see the coverage of Robert Enke in such depth on a british site. I live in Germany, so expected it to get the full monty, but I think the BBC did a good job in their coverage as well.
It's the football season (in more than one code!) 12:37pm on 10 Sep 2009 have to agree with post #3. When transfer deadline day gets a whole day of live text, it beggars belief that participation at a major championships is neglected. The presence of a section on Women's football does not make up for this. Even getting to the final is a success story that should be celebrated. I made a similar comment regarding the coverage of the women's cricket team. Don't get me wrong Lewis, I'm glad something is happening, but it could have happened a lot earlier.

The fact that I live outside the UK and therefore cannot follow the live feed or get the League 1 highlights is, of course, another topic - although in this case should not be too much of a problem as I live in Germany and therefore am getting the final rammed down my throat, given that the Germans think the result is a foregone conclusion!

Hobbies: ..romping around, having fun and having a laugh. Weaknesses: My friends say that I am a bit clumsy. Successes: I have never really been successful but I always give my best.

I saw the posing with Bolt after the 200m and was in stitches. All I need know is for some kind-hearted BBC employee (Tom, you know who I am talking about to "accidentally" upload this video onto the "well known video sharing website" that is often referred to in these blogs........
The inside track on the Usain sensation 4:14pm on 19 Aug 2009 Is it just me, or has Michael Johnson precious little to say? Look at these quotes: "I actually didn't know what he would run.", "I wouldn't know where to start to say what he's capable of doing. I wouldn't even know where to begin.", "His peak? It's difficult to say where he's going to go from here", "You can't predict what he's going to do". That to my mind is not what an analyst is paid for. So much for Tom's comment that "some conversationalists are more interesting than others"....

The only time Michael comes off the fence is for the last question. And to my mind, Usain Bolt has still got a heck of a lot to do to beat Michael Johnson as the greatest ever. Michael was a double Olympic champion, a double World Champion and took the 200m record down by 3/10 second, which for me is comparable to the success that Usain Bolt has had so far. And Johnson was around for a lot longer than Bolt has been. I'm not saying that Bolt won't at some point be considered the greatest ever, but when you consider all the great athletes that have gone before him, he still has a lot to prove.

Tougher tasks ahead for England 11:03pm on 13 Mar 2009 I find it disappointing (to say the least) that the games are not getting the same amount of attention on the BBC website as men's cricket. Where is the live commentary? It seems to me that women's sport in general gets a very rough deal, even when we have one of the best sides in the world, certainly one that can consider competing for the title, which is more than can be said for the men's team currently.
