Confidence and consistency is key for England 11:52am on 21 Aug 2008 Shah at 3 is a great move. Why does everybody love Prior as a batsman? He did average 40 in tests but how many low scores did he make for every 50 he made? Mustard should be in for me. Opening with Bell doesn't look right either at the minute. Wright is wasted at 7 unless we are playing a side like Australia where we could be 5 down in 30 overs. Need him up the order.

Pietersen revels in his coronation 7:29pm on 05 Aug 2008 133, yes, you are right, but why should that stop him from being England captain? If he is the best option then why not? He's been our best batsman for years, regardless of where he was born and there is no doubting his loyalty. As was correctly said Allan Lamb and Andrew Strauss have also captained England after being born in South Africa. Am I right in thinking that with your views Matt Prior, Strauss, Pietersen, Shah, Tim Ambrose, Johnathan Trott and Geraint Jones should not play/have played for England? This attitude is pathetic and if it extended to everyday society then how would people react?
Furthermore, can I point out that Monty Panesar and Sajid Mahmood were both born in ENGLAND!

Nice Don Caster. Really big and clever. How can you criticise our best player (by a country mile) and then link that back to eight years ago. Besides, your argument has no substance as he wasn't given a chance to play for South Africa. He was 19 years old and a tailend batsman. Stop being pathetic and grow up. Kevin Pietersen is NOT a South African. He has an English mother, he has lived here for 8 years and he is our national team's Test Captain!!
