Beckham gambling in Milan 5:09pm on 22 Oct 2008 Best of luck to him I say. He is a legend. Who can say they have played for United, Real and Milan in their careers? Not many. Shows how good he is that managers of such high esteem like Ancelotti and Capello still rate him. Milan have one of the best fitness programs and facilities in the world. They have kept ageing greats playing at the highest level, Maldini et al. Look at people like Seedorf, Pirlo, Inzaghi. beckham will thrive there, the pace of Italy should suit him.

I for one still think he has a lot to offer, even if it is just cameo roles for both club and country. Bringing Beckham off the bench is a luxury tool i'm glad Capello has at his disposal.

For all those who are whining about him getting more Caps than Moore, Charlton etc need to get a grip. Beckham has achieved a lot as a player that people need to respect. Forget the "sell out" image that he carries, look at his on the field achievements and they are remarkable.

Capello will keep England grounded 5:41pm on 08 Oct 2008 I'm sure when Capello gets another 6 points under Englqands belt, he'll be taking note of the critics and the Michael Owen fan club's bleatings will seem even more distant and pathetic than they do now.

Argentine trailblazers 1:12pm on 12 Aug 2008 Undoubtedly the best columnist on the BBC. Well done Tim, it's always a real insightful read - and does make Monday mornings at work that bit easier to swallow. South American football is so fascinating, and an aspect of the world game that we don't see enough of. Not sure why this is, perhaps the lack of British colonial history in the region? Over the years the articles have been very good and you must be commended for this. But it must be tough living in Rio though ;)
Pietersen will bring a new style of leadership 4:05pm on 05 Aug 2008 I think it's great to see a South African captaining England. Next up i'd like to see a Kiwi opening for the Windies and a Sri Lankan playing for Ireland.
Five batsmen not enough for England 10:46am on 25 Jul 2008 Simon Jones has to be recalled. The England pace attack lacks any real bite, or aggression. Jones would bring this to the side. The Saffas batsmen have had it all to easy with out polite bowling, we need to get in their faces. Jonesy's the man for the job! And while they're at it get rid of the useless Ambrose. What purpose does this guy serve, more so say than Prior? Prior was slated for not scoring enough runs, but when does the little boy currenlty behind the stumps ever hit big totals? The sooner the stop-gaps in this team make way for the heavy weights (Hamry, Jones, Hoggy) the better.
Karadzic finally captured 4:39pm on 22 Jul 2008 In my opinion this is a monumental moment for the Balkans, and especially for Serbia and it's dealings with the West. Hopefully this sign of cooperation and partnership with the EU will lead to Serbia becoming more involved with Europe and eventually taking its seat at Europe's top table. The traditional Serbian leanings towards Russia must now be a thing of the past if the Serbs are serious about wanting a partnership with Europe.
