England one-day player ratings 8:24pm on 20 Sep 2009 Still Ben, rather have Wright and Mascarenhas than Bopara, at least those two can smash it around. With either of them we can entertain the dream that an English player other than Pietersen can smash it all round the ground.

Bopara is in woeful form, gutted we can't bring in Trott for Champions trophy.
Anderson provides midfield balance 6:54pm on 25 May 2009 Anderson is too wasteful, he can be effective but sometimes he is counter-productive. With Barcelona possessing such attacking threats Anderson cannot afford to be wayward at all.

And as BackwardDefensive notes, I don't see why ODI's should serve as indication of success. Test cricket is more important and we'd gladly lose every ODI in history if it meant winning the big test series.

A LOT OF PEOPLE, hardly a select few interested in cricket.
The downer Down Under 2:58pm on 31 Dec 2008 Er... we're proud of Britain's acheivements and the contributions, whether from Scotland or Wales or wherever were excellant.

Hardly 'hijacking Hoy, Murray, Harrington'. In those sports we competed as a team together, they were brilliant.

England has a strong sporting tradition and are in the top 10 in the three major sports. The Welsh contribution in the cricket has been great over the years as well. As recently as 2005 Simon Jones was a spearhead of our attack.

Please don't accuse us English of dining out on home nations success as we appreciate how well competitors from the home nations have done. We have plenty to be proud of as an individual nation and as part of a united team.

Here's to a 2009 with success for the Lions, the GB tennis team, and home nations competitors.

Looking forward to Ashes and Lions in South Africa particularly.

Be nothing when Dravid, Laxman and Sachin retire. Nearly 30,000 runs gone and only fatty Yuvraj to fill hole. Rohit Sharma is useless too.

Fog and frisking end India tour 1:42pm on 24 Dec 2008 Plus points from this tour was that India did not doctor the pitches as much as usual.

Yuvraj was a bit of a disgrace and quite fat but overall this is the best discipline India have ever managed.

I can' t remember the last series Indian players did not get fined or banned so well done India.
Who would make your team of the year? 6:43pm on 21 Dec 2008 Nah, Smith is THE captain for ANY current World XI. Dhoni hasn't been in charge long enough. Smith is a better captain with more experience. A better player too.
Chennai Test provides lift for India 12:25pm on 18 Dec 2008 I'd rather ask 'manucastle' why he's made a judgement on KP's captaincy on the basis of 2 tests.

That's like saying Bradman was all at sea and shouldn't play tests when he got a duck. (and even he got a couple)
