Arsenal will not miss Adebayor 1:43pm on 16 Jul 2009 Just a couple of points,
1. To footy_analysis ~ "play beautifully" ~ Arsene Wenger wrote the brochure.
2. Man City could now field an entire team of forwards.
3. Arsenal could replace him with 25 million.
What do you think of the fixtures list? 2:43pm on 17 Jun 2009 I agree with el_nino_81 Everton have to play 19 teams twice home and away so what does it matter who and when. You have to play them all so you probably have a better chance of winning at the start of the season than at the end due to injuries.
Success of Sky was never a model for Setanta 09:15am on 10 Jun 2009 As was pointed out in a few posts, I cannot understand the reasoning behind the EU and anti monopoly. Granted the viewer has a choice of what channel to watch his (or hers) football on but again as was pointed out, we have to pay twice. So the only loser being the viewer and the only winners the clubs.
Success of Sky was never a model for Setanta 5:53pm on 09 Jun 2009 Sky Sports is a highly polished stone. As you say, a lot of effort has gone into what we now see. I feel personaly that Soccer Saturday would take some beating by any broadcaster covering any subject. They have the right balance of pundits, entertaining roving reporters and an anchorman at the top of his game. Anyone wishing to take them on needs to learn from Sky's early mistakes and offer quality and what the average armchair viewer wants. Kudos for free to air for the FA Cup Final. As a non subscriber I actually watched the final on Satanta and enjoyed the longer coverage (like the Beeb used to do).
Barry gets England talking 4:58pm on 03 Jun 2009 To 68 " If Only" If only me dad had boobs he'd be me mum. If Everton had an uninjured Yakubu/Arteta/Jags/Anichebe/Vaughan we would of finished 4th not Arsenal and won the FA Cup but we didnt.

Just look to Newcastle, for a few seasons now they always pipped Everton to signing players because they offered more wages, but I am a much happier Blue than all the Toon Army put together. Buying a new first team doesnt work, it didnt work for Real Madrid, how many medals did Beckham, Owen, Zidane & co get?.
Big business as usual 11:25am on 02 Jun 2009 As an Everton fan I would welcome more money for Moyes to play with knowing he would use it with more wisdom than most. He is level headed enough not to bankrupt the club paying over inflated wages to over inflated ego's. But what I value more than anything is the level headedness of (Sir) Bill Kenwright. He allows his manager to manage and trust his judgements not like Guippetto of Stamford Bridge who appoints puppets he can manipulate. Next season Guippetto will interfere more than ever and I for one am not jealous of Chelsea because I know that regardless of what Millonarios may say, Everton are a great club and history shows us that. I have seen more succes from Everton in the forty years I have supported them than Chelsea have ever had.
England still need Owen 07:53am on 31 Mar 2009 Owen is too injury prone these days and going into a world cup you cannot afford to take dead weight. If he gets injured, just like last time, thats a man down in the squad. Lets move on and work on improving the skills of the younger fitter players.Teams like Everton have some exciting young players like Rodwell, Vaughan and Gosling, we should gradually bring them into the squad maybe not for 2010 but for the Euros in 2012, they will be 21-23 by then.
