Liu Xiang out 3:48pm on 19 Aug 2008 Good luck Liu Xiang. You did your best for your country.
In a way you did not loose much. If you had won you would have been the biggest hero in China. But sadly it doesnt even take a second for a hero to be labelled a "traitor" in your country. Just try speaking out about the pressure put by the goverment on you.
So take rest with peace of mind that you lost almost nothing.
Filming me, filming you 12:53pm on 15 Aug 2008 james....you dotn seem to know much about china. china is complex. what look like a tibettan protest is actually a rally by tibettans who are really happy that they are much freeer than when Dalai lama ruled. These days tibetans eat kung pao chicken. Under Dalailama they could eat only Tso chicken which is bad for both health and national security. These days they get better soy sauce. even the ones with the new orange flavor. So you see tibettans are happy.
Not quite what we thought 5:04pm on 13 Aug 2008 honestly I am ok with faking of the singer and to some extend the fireworks.

It is the explanation that it was for national interest that gets me most. what a nation it is to have its interests dependent on deceiving.

this is his blog and not mainland china for heavens sake. He can express his opinion fearlessly here. Unlike most of you who dare not in your country.

So i understand you are new to free speech and dont know how to react to a different opinion. Let me help you here, in situations like this, get a wrigley's double mint gum. dont waste your sleep any more you need to watch olympics all day

Yes china may bag most medals
Yes that guy will win 110 M hrdles. News of injury is an anticipatory bail
yes some events may get rescheduled because no matter how much powerful teh govt think they are , environment is totally out of their hands. being communists they cant pray either
NO there will be no protests in olympic venues. China will filter, double filter , the viewers through multiple layers of security. They will crush those independent voices where ever detected

Lucky number 3:53pm on 17 Jul 2008 people of china will need all the 8 s in the world to taste freedom and democracy. or rather than chosing a number that sounds like wealth they should chose a number that sounds like " liberty". I wonder where hides the assertiveness of the chinese who respond to this blog, when it comes to bad policies of chinese govt - like tianmen massacre and so on
