But have to agree with some of the other bloggers that Lighting BOLT is The Man! of Beijing 2008.
Five batsmen not enough for England 8:25pm on 21 Jul 2008 Note Sobers started his test career at number 9 and ended up at 4 and later on in his illustrious career at 6. Not suggesting by any stretch Broad is anywhere near the Greatest Cricketer but it just may be we have unearthed a gem of a batsman who can bowl well enough for a 5th bowler. My take we should pursue with Broad and stick him in at 7 for next few tests?
England bowling lacks menace 9:06pm on 20 Jul 2008 England simply cannot afford to ditch a player who has scored 19 centuries and many of them in great style. Dump Cook, his time will come again but currently he is just a test level journey man. Vaughan to open with Shah in at 6. Pity England cannot find a keeper with the class of Gilly (no one can) or Sangakara to field 5 genuine bowlers.

Also, ... we will find out at the conclusion of this test series whether Freedie is a spent force after all the operations. Perhaps sadly his future will only lie in the very lucurative but pantomine form of the game T20
Twenty20 must be given room to breathe 6:29pm on 11 Jul 2008 At the end of the day the future of Test cricket (perhaps sadly) will be decided by India's BCCI the only cricketing superpower in the planet. Next generation of English/Aus/SA/WI cricketers will have the opportunity to make 5 times as much money horning their skills and plying their trade in T20 or 'bikini' cricket in Indian leagues than playing traditional Test cricket. Like the poor Sri Lankan cricketers who can really blame them
