And the main question is as you said....
"where are they going to get the money"
Time is running out 10:04pm on 29 Sep 2009 I get the impression that some of the bloggers on here actually believe what has been said at the Labour party conference. There did not seem so much interest at the Liberal conference but I would assume that is down to the fact that Brian and his BBC colleagues don't think that they matter.

Will the believers be listening to Conservatives' big bash when it comes?

Labour cannot and will not win the next election so what ever plans Mr Brown and his colleagues have are mere rhetoric which is what all political party conferences are.

If I was an alien checking out what life on the planet was like and in particular the great UK(That is so difficult to write) I think I would about turn and home.

What I want to know is who is paying for your little trip to Brighton?
Who paid for "the idiot" to go to America?
Do you get expenses?
Is there a limit as to what you can claim for?

Now if it is the licence payer who is paying for these little sortees then I want to know why?

There is absolutely no need for you to attend the Labour Party Conference in Brighton unless you are a member of the labour party and want to associate yourself with the likes of the comeback man Mandleson.

As for Labour Scotland, with Murphy and Grey in charge they have little chance of remaining a political force.

But back to my question Brian----Who is paying??

Just listened to "The big debate" and wondered if the "big" refered to your stature because on the whole it all sounded a bit tame.
Your defense of the BBC was pathetic to the extent it sounded as if you feared losing your job if the SBC should become a reality.
If you want this to work you'll need to get some bigger hitters on the debate and I will make myself available should you decide to take the road show to Aberdeen (Stonehaven would be better).

Do you know of a political party in Scotland or the world for that matter that have managed to stand by their manifesto?
The SNP run a minority government and are severly constrained by the UK opposition parties who will do anything to make life difficult for the SNP administration.
You should think about curbing your language and reconsider the use of the word "lied".
Only a fool believes all that is written in a manifesto.
The SNP got the vital seat because the electorate decided we had had enough of Labour.
There is also the small matter of the confusing voting papers where SNP votes may have been lost.

....and here was me thinking that the great US of A had disowned us due to the Megrahi affair. At least the BBC and the rest of the media keep ramming down our throats the idea of isolation from the world. Another pariah state for the rest of the world to play politics with.
I just hope the SNP administration has the backbone to stick by their morals and continue to govern as it does despite the constraints imposed upon it.
