A political career shelved 8:40pm on 17 Jun 2009 Working class Unison members will be pleased to learn that years of financing the capitalist "Labour" Party has produced a politician such as the Right Honourable Jim Devine MP. How many other Unison careerists are currently working their way up the union hierarchy with the view to becoming wealthy careerist "Labour" politicians?
Counting on votes 01:59am on 02 Jun 2009 79. there are 129 Unionists at Holyrood, including the SNP Euro-Unionists with their illogical "Independence in Europe" fantasy. Its not logical, Mr Salmond!
Also, all the main parties support the capitalist system, so they all have much in common. The editor of the Daily Telegraph has done us a big favour by showing working people trying to make ends meet that our army of professsional politicians have got their noses in the public trough enriching themselves at our expense. Tory/Labour, Tweedledum or Tweedledee.

I think Brown is a bigger target to have a pop at than Blair because when he (Broon) had the chance to cause a division in the cabinet over Iraq he meekly went along with it, spending billions as Chancellor(indeed the "Labour" Government is still spending billions on wars) and putting young working class lads and lassies in harms way, this military involvement over oil contributing to an ongoing bloodbath in Iraq and Afghanistan. In my opinion, as criminal as Blair if not more so.

you mentioned the wish to return stability to the markets. For years the so-called "people's party" (now the bankers' party) said they had ended Tory boom and bust, check out old "Labour" election literature. What a lot of auld mince that has turned out to be! Proves that Broon is neither entitled to claim he was the greatest Chancellor (Chancer more like) since sliced breid as he is certainly not to blame for the current capitalist crisis.
Bailing out the super-rich bankers, nationalising their bad debts - how about nationalising the massive debts of working class people building up under the current tenure of our "New Labour" masters !

I would agree that Malta etc probably have little influence in Europe. Which is a reason for Scotland to aspire to become an independent democratic republic outwith the EU. This would certainly be more logical than the Euro-Unionist position of the SNP, who in the past have railed against British Unionists!
Why leave one London-centred Union and then suspend all critical faculties when it comes to the even more remote and undemocratic European Union?

He says he will build a "fair" society - after 11 years of "Labour" government!! So an acknowledgement by Broon that the rich have got richer and the poor poorer under "Labour".
He says "Labour" are "pro-market", ie a capitalist party like the Tories.
It all sounded like one of Blair's relaunches with empty sounding soundbites such as "fairness" and "fair rules" for all. He is a political conman like Blair, in my opinion. How many times did he mention Iraq, Afghanistan, Trident, cuts to working class peoples' wages because of high inflation. Broon is truly the bankers' friends, giving them billions, while the rest of us are expected to pay for the capitalist economic crisis. It is all very Blairite, Brownite is just the same.

Perhaps Scotland should go for a republic, as advocated by Clydesider John Maclean in the 1920's?
At least we would be rid of all the "Labour fakirs" such as "Labour" Lord Foulkes and all the other "Labour" Lords. We have a "Labour" Baroness Adams here in Paisley, a real fighting Baroness for the working class.
Does anyone know the present total of "Labour" Lords and Baroness' now dwelling among us more modest working class folks?
Tavish Scott takes to the leadership stage 7:09pm on 28 Aug 2008 We could all argue until the kye come hame about the economics of independence. "Labour" politicians claim we are all enjoying the fruits of the "Union Dividend", presenting Jockland as being inhabitated by subsidy junkies.
"Labour" politicians tell lies, however. Just look at their political acrobatics about the reasons for the Iraq War. Blair may be "history" but his miserable Thatcherite Jock successor, Broon, carries on with the wars. Well, he did agree to pay for them as Chancer of the Exchequer.

I see there is a new Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, a Mr Bean. He could form a new partnership with Broon, forming the Broon Bean economic duet. One of them, I understand, is a neo-Thatcherite who gives billions to bankers. He also hails from "North Britain" (his own words) and has Mrs T. round for tea!
