Team of the tournament 6:37pm on 30 Jun 2008 Arshavin was fantastic against Holland, but not only did he miss the first two games, he completely went missing when it really mattered against Spain. Crazy to put him in the team of the tournament. His place up front should go to Torres (blew hot and cold, but a matchwinner when it mattered) with mentions for Pavylchenko and Van Nistelrooy.

Can't believe Lahm gets a mention - he was once a great player but he had a shocking tournament, so bad in the final he had to be taken off. Best left back by a mile was Zhirkov.

You also completely ignore two of the best creative midfielders - Deco and Modric and the quietly inspirational Puyol.
