Candidates' speeches really matter 4:20pm on 22 Jun 2009 What a shame that somebody who has failed to vote for transparency, but likes to talk it up, might win. He's a member of the Old Guard, same old politics. Nothing will change with him.

What an utter shame that the two who made reasonable expense claims & voted for transparency, Richard Shepherd & Ann Widdecombe, don't seem like they'll win. Do these politicians never learn? People don't want the same old game.
Speak - er, erm? 11:57am on 22 Jun 2009 If they had any courage they would vote for Richard Shepherd. He is one of the few who walks the walk on expenses, not just talking the talk. He's supported FoI for MPs, made modest expenses. He seems that he's more interested in being a good reforming MP, not a defender of MPs and their most nefarious activites. And for those reasons, he won't win ... typical.
Dear Andy, can we talk? 12:07pm on 30 Dec 2008 Any concerned parents should just go to OpenDNS.com, you don't need to install anything just set-up an account and change your DNS to theirs (it's easily explained, if not let them get the 14 year old kid their worried about to do it!) and set-up the filters, there are 30 categories or so. It works much better than any tat any Government would produce ever would, and it's free. Or, if the parent can't do that, take the computer downstairs and stick it somewhere they can see, unless they're too busy doing something (drinking, watching Jeremy Kyle, reading the Daily Mail & complaining ...) to, you know, parent.

Burnham is clearly unfit for the job - an understanding of the field should surely be a requirement for the job ... or, supporting the Great Leader; one of the two certainly!

As for cinema style ratings, how would they work? Would my site need to be classified by a pen pusher, presumably for a cost? Even though the site may make little, if any, money.

If, like this site, it has a comment system, would the rating change based on what people said? Would we hire thousands of pen pushers, presumably in a Labour-marginal, to go through the web looking at these sites as they change?

What would the BBC be rated? It has videos of war & terrorists, I guess that's an 18 then! Or, better yet, the system is 'smart' so some stories (like Gordon saves the world) are U but those nasty stories (terrorists - unless we've cracked a plot, war - unless we're winning, Gordon looks a fool - ie. always) would be 18 and need an ID card before viewing, and a small payment for processing that.
iPlayer Beta Round-Up 6:23pm on 27 Jun 2008 I've read about these RSS feeds, but when I look at the iPlayer Beta I can not find them.

Has anybody spotted any of the feeds in the wild?
