What did you think of The One Show? Guest: Michael McIntyre 7:13pm on 27 Nov 2009 The guy was right about the inefficiency of electric cars. Lucy may not believe but she is denying a scientific fact. Petrol is very efficient at storing energy as is its conversion into useful work. Electricity generation and transmission is terribly wasteful and inefficient as is underdeveloped battery technology.
What did you think of The One Show? Guest: Ronan Keating 7:30pm on 17 Nov 2009 Trust the BBC to spin the tale of 'War Children' negatively. No mention of the inevitable rise in child deaths and orphans had the children not been led to safety. What about the psychological implications of that as well as putting those orphans in appalling state run institutions not to mention the thousands of children and their children and grandchildren who would otherwise have never been born.

Like all the other quango's have been a raging success. What we need is directly elected (preferably with no party affiliation) watchdogs to break up the cosy back scratching between the politicians and public servants.

Does anyone else find it odd that today the BBC are highlighting Barnardo's dubious report about child trafficking when yesterday the BBC were reporting on forced child migrants to Australia by the government and complicit but unnamed charities, one of which was Dr. Barnardo's? I suppose if anyone knows anything about child trafficking it should be Barnardo's considering their appalling history.

It's beautifully ironic how the BBC/Children in Need are distilling everything down to cold, hard cash - a criticism normally reserved for evil bankers, capitalists, free traders and right-wingers. It used to be that decent families could organise children's activities without tax-payers or charity cash but in the modern New Labour world that is now a criminal activity.

Guest: Freddie Flintoff 7:24pm on 10 Nov 2009 So can we now have Kaye Adams admit that the BBC unremittingly bias toward the Left no matter how wrong they get it the BBC will always take the heat for the Left and will always blow up about any story however small that can be spun negatively for the Right.

The fact is Brown was completely careless when writing the letter and for not proof reading it and his office is chaotic because no one else proof read the letter. And what the BBC won't report is that he told Mrs. Janes on the telephone that he had spelled her name correctly despite the obvious truth that he didn't and also goes to show how heartless he was during that telephone call to mount a defence instead of a giving grovelling apology. It took him 3 attempts to get it right. The BBC has also chosen not to publicise the full transcript of the telephone call and the dismissive replies he made to Mrs. Janes. Nor has the BBC reported the disgraceful Labour spin campaign to smear Mrs Janes as politically motivated.

The BBC has tried its best to do nothing other than spin this as a sympathy story for Brown's disability. Are you kidding! Compared to the death of a serviceman who was only where he was because of Brown's orders. The BBC are reaching new levels of despicable behaviour.

It's also supremely rich for Adams to claim that the Sun are misleading when the BBC in all areas of news self-censors itself based on its liberal agenda. You won't see on the BBC News any suggestion of radical Islamic connections to the guy who went on a rampage at Fort Hood. In fact any act of Islamic terrorism around the world is never reported by the BBC to have any connections to fundamental Islamism. Israel is always in the wrong - where was the BBC's apology when it was conclusively shown that the IDF did not bomb a school and kill children during the recent conflict and for which the BBC crucified Israel?

This has to be one of the most despicable and inhuman things The One Show has done in its short and illustrious history of making excuses for Labour.

Maybe if the BBC did its job and actually reported regularly on Iraq and Afghanistan instead of celebrity nonsense the situation would be better understood. Maybe not. I forgot for a moment you're the pinko BBC who have been supporting anti-War groups for decades since they were founded and funded by the Soviet Union.

Oh please! The Rowntree trust. You must be kidding me. An organisation founded by a Quaker writes a report critical of the Army. And in the News the Pope is Catholic.
What did you think of The One Show? Guest: Ben Elton 7:23pm on 04 Nov 2009 Look out Matt Allwright, Harman will soon make sure that you can't compete for a job because women must be chosen first.

Imagine the lefty outrage if the recruitment of primary school teachers, nurses and other jobs were all male shortlists due to the appalling lack of gender diversity - far worse than in parliament. And for that matter what about the inequality in the Department of Health where on average women are paid considerably more than men.

And just to shoot down this 'Lehman Sisters' nonsense about women changing everything for the good, it was a woman who invented Credit Default Swaps which resulted in the spread of toxic assets across the system.

Selecting by gender has nothing to do with representation. The only thing that matters in politics is diversity of opinion and what is actually required is more independent MPs that can only be brought about by loosening the power of the party whips.

We didn't need this discrimination to get a female PM or for that matter a Jewish PM, two things the US has never achieved. I'm with Widdecombe and I'll never vote for or respect a women candidate who hasn't had to compete against all-comers.
What did you think of The One Show? Guest: Dara O'Briain 7:40pm on 03 Nov 2009 Re: Germs. It's interesting that the term public transport is used and suggests connotations of public service but these services are run by private companies. The BBC so often beats up on any form of capitalism but essentially hides a good news story for private business who are clearly very good at cleaning their vehicles. Maybe they have something to teach the NHS. It's clear these private companies can clean but private companies working under the burden of the NHS monolith aren't able to provide a good service.

However the whole piece doesn't negate the essential truth of the 'great unwashed' on public transport as people are the germ carriers and simply by being around more people raises the likelihood of infection. Public transport was also designed for the masses on lower wages and lower wages also correlates to poorer health and hygiene.
