Cast-iron uncertainties 08:56am on 01 Sep 2009 Re. Chelsea winning the title. Won't they be losing Drogba, Essien, Mikel and Kalou to African Cup of Nations this year? Might slow them up a bit, methinks.
Diving me crazy 10:22pm on 31 Aug 2009 I can't believe the vitriol I'm reading in these posts. Some of you people really need to get laid or smoke a joint or do something to take the edge off. Why you continue to read blogs you don't enjoy eludes me. As for choosing to spend large swaths of time criticising a person you don't know on his writing skills, well I don't think I'll ever understand that.

No doubt I'll predictably be receiving one of your 'stinging' and gleefully malevolent ripostes on subject of my intelligence for this post...

Keane's gone to the dogs 1:26pm on 24 Apr 2009 Thanks for your patronising words on the Irish national team. Keane's comments about McCarthy 'not even' being Irish were in relation to his questioning Keane's patriotism. If Fabio Capello questioned John Terry's loyalty to his country I have no doubt half of England would be up in arms; "Where does he get off...", "Who does he think he is..." etc. Roy made a fair point there. Mick McCarthy was and is, as they say in Cork, 'a langer'.

As for Ireland doing 'OK' at the World Cup without him, getting knocked out in the second round is mediocre at best. If a certain someone had been on the pitch, that wouldn't have happened. Any assumption otherwise is ill-informed.

One more thing: Ray Houghton's father is from Donegal so the link isn't as tenuous as you suggest, it's the equivalent of Owen Hargreaves playing for England. Strangely enough, you failed to point that out.

Delap's already played for Ireland under the granny rule. Can't get in the squad at the moment.
Why Man City must ditch Ronaldinho plan 11:50am on 14 Jul 2008 He'd be another Faustino Asprilla - lots of memorable moments going forward but when your team don't have the ball it's like playing with ten men because he will do zero defending.

Even at his best Ronaldinho played that way and I don't think Mark Hughes or anyone else will be able to change that about him. It's alright when you're playing for Brazil or Barcelona but Man City don't the class of those teams to compensate for a lack of defensive effort from the forwards.
