Starlings! 6:06pm on 30 Nov 2009 The best murmuration I ever saw was in Parliament Square in the Nineties. The whole early evening sky was blotted out by the spotted suckers. Where we are now, the flock is tiny and when they are not wnding up the crows who live in the defunct chimney pots, there are treating us to areobatical displays, often flying through the aforementioned crow mob.

Who deserves a New Year's Honour? 6:08pm on 26 Nov 2009 Jill McGivring; Sarah Rainsford: Karen Allen; Orla Guerin. If you listen to some of their reports on the world service, you might agree they should receive some recognition.

spirit” and “one mind”, “likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord,
of one mind”; (Philippians 1:27; 2:2)—to “speak the same thing” with “no
divisions”... “perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same
judgment”; (1 Corinthians 1:10). He wants His people to be “as one man”, (Ezra
3:1).
That is, He wants deep Family unity. TFTD panders to quite the opposite. As it is open to some comers as opposed to all comers, I see no reason why humanists should be excluded. A muslim from Bangladesh can address his like-minded friends but a humanist from Godalming may not? That is the kind of intellectually-challenged logic that has brought the BBC to the politically correct place it has sunk to over the last fifty years.

calling for the institution of a “global economic order... under global
law.”
Pope Benedict xvi in his encyclical “Caritas in Veritate” called for a
global order to address the world’s 21st-century challenges.

Which "global order"? Whose "global law"?
Answer: Theirs. The one they have been imposing on the EU these fifty years.
What Merkel and the pope are pointing out here, is, we need one system. "The greater the number of systems and their constituents, the greater the disorder." (As proved by the bank collapses.)
But it will be their system.

PM Glass Box for Wednesday 6:06pm on 28 Oct 2009 Mr. Cameron needs to instruct his aides to reread the Lisbon Treaty if he thinks Europe has no need of a president. Not only is a president on his way, but also a European army; European embassies all over the world; a European police force and a centralised European intelligence agency run by, the Germans. There is no job description for president of Europe. Whoever comes in is going to set his own agenda. He's going to want to ring Brussels and ask for all the intelligence regarding blah blah blah. Member countries will be required to comply. The central bank in Frankfurt will increase as the world's financial capital as influence in Wall Street and the City decreases.
Europe is an empire without an emperor. That emperor will be chosen by the Germans, with considerable assistance from the Vatican.
Mr. Cameron needs to do his homework.
