Carvalho seems a spent force. Alex & Terry are solid enough. Ivanovic seems pretty decent & i'm happy about Mancienne's development. Do we need defenders? NO.
What we do need is cover for Ballack & another right side player plus another striker. Wesley Schneider of Madrid or Luca Modric of Spurs would be more than decent replacements. Deco has got to go, don't care, sell him to Hull. Up front, maybe Huntelaar or Jo from Man City. I know a few eye brows will be raised by just the mention of Jo, but i can'r help but feel that he will score goals & lots of them. Put him in a Chelsea side & I'd say he'd get 30+ goals.

On our left we have problems, Zirkhov, Malouda & Joe Cole???
Zirkhove will provide cover for Ashley too but would it be his best position?? Don't know! Need cover at Right back too, though Ivanovic could play there too. Right wing= Rafael van der Vaart!!!!!!!!!

He's the jewel in Hughesy's crown!!! Chelsea wanted him & Chelsea don't buy rubbish.
Ancelotti's reality check 08:38am on 07 Jul 2009 Have to agree Phil, City will not be a threat this season. The only world-class player they have is Robinho, sure he must be kicking himself now that ronaldo & kaka are at madrid. He would've lined up next to class players as to the barry's, bellamy's & irelands at City.
City seem to be in the same space as Spurs at he moment, similar players with the potential to break into the top 4. But surely, like spurs, they will fall short. Someone give Moyes or O'Neil a $100m, then we'd have some competition. As for now, the top 4 stays put.

As for Terry, he's a Blue through & Through. Captain for life!
Springbok legends? 09:13am on 06 Jul 2009 The Boks are a good team, but a great team would've beat the Lions 3-0. I can't help but feel that we'll be brutally exposed by an attacking All Black team. The Lions are a good unit & they play superb rugby, but rugby in the southern hemisphere more of a real test of character & ability. I for one, don't think that the boks will win the Tri-Nations. The wallabies are playing some exciting rugby at the moment too. The Lions can really feel proud for there awesome display on saturday. Both teams ringed in the changes so the match should've been an even contest, not so, the lions completely out-played the boks in all aspects. Over the years the boks were the only team to consistently beat or even compete with the All Blacks. All Blacks will win the Tri-Nations!
Valencia is not Ronaldo-lite 12:36pm on 01 Jul 2009 Don't know why Chelsea haven't jumped on this, why haven't we bought anybody as yet? Could the money have dried up at the Bridge? Wouldn't want a 30 year old Pirlo in the team, we need to buy younger players. Valencia would've been ideal, the boy's 23. Hope Ancellotti doesn't turn us into the retirement village they got going in Milan!!!!!!

Have officials turned a blind eye to Burger? 08:16am on 30 Jun 2009 I'm a bok supporter and was pretty disturbed by PDV reaction, clearly the guy is just trying to defend his players as all coaches do, but the way he went about it just defied stupidity. The fact remains, burger should have been sent off, the touchline asst. called a yellow, end of dispute. It was clearly a refereeing error, so live with it. Could it have changed the outcome of the match??? Yes.

I don't for one minute believe that burger's reputation can be tarnished for the one error, such incidents happen all the time in rugby and it happens all over the world. The ban schalk got was fair if u compare other incidents that happened in the past. I predicted a bok win last week and we got one. Close match, great game, now for the whitewash.

The bulls & sharks make up the bulk of the squad. u don't have a point when referring to chelsea too. some people! You're right about the boks winning tho,impressed by your attitude.

The bulk of the team is made up of Bulls players, so they'll be playing in front of there home fans, losing is not an option at Loftus.
So let's stop all the babbling about who's gonna win. Saturday afternoon when the final whistle blows, we'll see.

last world cup was won by defending well.

u can say what u wanna edgroves, NH team won't win the world cup again, maybe in about 3 decades time.
Can new-look Lions square the series? 09:21am on 26 Jun 2009 Oh please! What's it with u Brits? Always talking your team up before they get completely mugged. Expect nothing less than a Springbok win this weekend. The pack difference is 8kg, so what! I still expect the boks to dominate the scrum, the breakdown and continue to maul the lions back into their own 22. Line outs are springboks too, i expect the lions backs to have a good go at the bok defense. The boks tackling will be imense as always. These northern hemisphere teams just can't compete!
After englands accidental world cup win, a N/H team would probably win the world cup in another 30 years!
