if anyone wanted proof that the BBC doesn't pay a blind bit of attention to the responses post on their "tech" blogs then this latest entry provides it.
The Facebook fizzle 09:53am on 28 Jul 2009 Facebook in "not as good as twitter" shocker. The BBC can exclusively reveal that the thing they were banging on about in every tech blog they publshed last year as being "the most important thing ever", is no longer as important as the web thing they've now been banging on about in every "tech" blog for the past 9 months.

The "tech blogs" on the BBC redefine the term "one dimensional" once again.

That's a big claim. Care to back it up with some evidence?
Bruno and Bono's box office blues 2:46pm on 22 Jul 2009 What surprises me is that there is a story about iphones being in short supply and RCJ has blogged about it yet. Isn't there a rule here on the BBC Tech blogs that soon as there's a (ahem) story about either Twitter or the Iphone a blog post appears here about it immediately after?

How damaging is illegal file-sharing? 08:45am on 12 May 2009 What was it they were telling us 25 years ago. "Home Taping IS Killing Music". And I'm sure we all remember were we all where that fateful day back in '89 when it actually happened. When Phil Collins and Madonna barricaded themselves in against the bailuffs, hoping that their last stand would save music for generations. And now twenty years later? If we'd only listened to the Record industry's warnings. If we'd only realised the threat was true. To think there's now an entire generation of people who've grown up unaware of "music" simply because a people used to tape the Top 40 on a Sunday or the odd Van Halen album....
In search of audio perfection 12:42pm on 23 Apr 2009 Interesting point. But not really surprising given how for as long as we've had compressed audio formats the manufacturers have been telling us that they sound "as good as CD" despite this being patent nonsense. But if people only listen to compressed music through either cheap headphones, the speakers attached to their PC or what passes as mainstream "hi-fi" these days then it's not a bit of wonder people can't tell the difference.
It never ceases to amaze me that people think that the low resolution approximations these formats prodiuce are some how comparable to CD, let alone it's high resolution companions DVDA and especially SACD. At the time when there is a headlong rush to HDTV isn't ironic that their is an equal and opoosite rush to low resolution audio formats?
Is Skype on the iPhone a big deal? 10:49am on 31 Mar 2009 Nothing about the "iphone" is a big deal. In the last few weeks the coverage it's been getting here is completely out of hand. We've had "Iphone get's new firmware update" we've had "iphone is the future of handheld gaming" and now we get another "Iphone gets new application" story.
Why are you covering this? Will you be covering firmware updates for other products with equally breathless anticipation? Will you be mentioning when other products get new applications to download? Of course not. And this is the problem with this type of journalist blogging. And it becomes more and more apparent You actually aren't doing any journalism. You've got pages of this stuff to fill so rather than do any basic investigation you simply dust down a press release and "bang" you have a piece. In this instance you're not impressed, but that's not really the point. More it's the fact that you even deemed this suitable to even mention. There is more to technology than the iphone and Apple (and Twitter for that matter). Unfortunately it's too far outside your nice little comfort zone for you to notice.

What pioneer a new technology and last 25 years?
UK stops listening, starts playing 7:22pm on 05 Nov 2008 Is that sales or units? If it sales then the surprising thing is that it's taken so long. Or, put another way. If albums where £39.99 each, and you could only play certain albums on certain CD players dependent on the label the artist was on, or if you wanted to listen to your music while on the move you'd pay the same for an inferior or stripped down version (I suppose you do - mp3s are appalling quality played though anything better than a £99.99 "hi-fi" from Tesco's), or if you had to update your CD player every so many years to play the new releases and at the same time being unable to play your existing CD's as the new player is incompatible with what you've already got, then I suspect the music industry would be in rude health.

As for HMV et al whinging about CD sales declining. If your selling (or should that be "not selling") Dark Side Of The Moon for £21.99 then perhaps, just perhaps, people may consider that you are a tad expensive and either buy the same album elsewhere or (heaven forbid) download a copy from somwhere er "free". In fact you'd almost think HMV and the rest weren't interested in selling music anymore. We don't sell as much therefore we'll dedicate more space to selling games consoles. Which means, as there is less space to sell music they sell less and so on. Zavi to encurage punters could perhaps make their stores less like jumble sales. Who knows the simple act of putting CD's in alphabetical order may yet save them from the abyss...
