What Mercedes buy-out of Brawn could mean 01:46am on 18 Nov 2009 I wonder just how long ago Brawn did his deal with Mercedes. It does make sense if he talked the deal maybe the same time he got his engines for this year. Why Brawn has been so reluctant to put adverting on his cars this year, and maybe why Virgin are off to another team for 2011!
When it became Ross Brawns team, Mercedes must have leaped at the chance of having a Ross Brawn lead Mercedes team for 2011.

I think JB is mad to go to McLaren, Just take the money Brawn offer and win races with a team that is based around you. You have the merc engine. But in the same car as LH, sorry, but its going to end in tears for JB.
Toyota exit shifts F1 balance of power 00:18am on 05 Nov 2009 I hope no one else drops out, I remember when the BTCC (British Touring Cars) lost the big car makes to the European TCC, the fast action racing went out the window when it became mostly privateers. Even thought some have come back it is still not the same. For that old hard on action you need to watch the Ozzy V8's.

I wish the new teams good luck, but they are going to be back markers for a few years.

I'd like to say a great big thank-you to you and the rest of the team for the fantastic coverage the BBC has given us this year. Especially the red button forums, they have just made race day.

The practice sessions have been great fun too, more so for the chat and banter that has gone on during them.
I can't wait for next year to start. Just one thing, more of Lee on screen next year, OK!
A week with Windows 5:43pm on 28 Oct 2009 This started out about Windows 7, but at times has just turned into a grumble for those who do not like windows, and has nothing to do with windows 7.

To be honest I'm not sure what I said in my last post that had it removed, but I've taken out the only things that might have been considered not allowed, but I do feel others have gone much further that I did, only they were writing out from the other point of view!! That seems a bit unfair.

For me windows normally does what it says, lets me write (using both Word and Open Office, I use both), email, go on the net, use photo and movie editing programs. Thats it, it works. Why would I want to bother going somewhere else. It looks professional, Apple on the other hand looks like it was designed for and by children, Linux and others by a group programers in need of a graphic designer. Yes I know that sounds mean, but very often THAT IS, the their O/S screens look.

So, windows 7. XP ran for years without a problem for me. So I do hope 7 is more stable that Vista, in two years I've had to reload it three times, each and every time after a windows update screwed things up beyond fixing!! Not clever that Microsoft. If windows 7 turns out to be stable it will be the first O/S I've bought without a PC attached at the same time.

But even with the problems I still would not change to another O/S system, by and large I like windows and the way it works.

How Mosley lost F1 power battle 6:49pm on 26 Jun 2009 On a US race, please lets not go to that trashie infield track at Indy. San Francisco wanted to have the race when Indy got it. They were going to put it in one of the parks Melbourne style. I rather like that idea. Any one for a two week Holiday in San Francisco with a FOTA race in the middle?
How Mosley lost F1 power battle 6:43pm on 26 Jun 2009 I really have had enough of Max and the FIA, please FOTA, just do what you were going to do on thursday and start the new series. We will miss the name, for sure, but we will get use to FOTA Races or whatever it ends up being called quick enough. Bernie did a fantastic job getting F1 on tv, but dumping well loved old tracks to go chasing the ever bigger buck for cvc has seen him sell out the fans and the series. So lets just go and start again at the tracks we want, and good-bye FIA/CVC.
iPlayer: BBC v BT 7:23pm on 02 Jun 2009 I'm only a sometimes user of iPlayer (maybe an hour and a half over two weeks at the most), but recently I have noticed from around 5pm onwards at times (Yes, I know the kids and teenage terrors have escaped school and have hit the internet by then :) ), if I try to download a program it can give me a download time of up to 19 hours. I checked my internet speed using the link on the BBC nonspots ( uk internet speeds) item and found my normal speed of 2 1/2 Mbps. So is it iPlayer overloaded by the kids, or is Tiscali (or my bt phone connection) lowering the iPlayer download speeds?

On the whole I agree with this, MPs have show just how greedy they can be when allowed some freeway, and how untrust worthy they are when it comes to their own pockets.

However I do think their should be one exception to this rule, new MPs should be able to claim for setting up a second home if they have to. And that should include furniture, white goods and fixtures and fittings on a NEW TO PARLIAMENT ONE TIME CLAIM ONLY.

By the way I'm not about to stand for parliment just in case you wandered!
