Are Hull finally on the up again? 4:26pm on 27 Nov 2009 Good blog Steve - also like your enthusiastic commentaries on MoTD - lets hope the half time team talk at Eastlands last season however finally gets put to bed. Understand your Grandad used to be a City supporter - top man.

As adoptedtiger rightly says, the reason for our demise last season post Xmas was the departure of bad boy Marlon King and a nagging back injury to Daniel Cousin as well as being without both Bullard & Gardner.

As for masterbertieblade - grow up.

You might notice we play to our capacity of 24900 with segregation - have 20500 passholders and would get more in if the KC was bigger.

As for Sir Keith Edwards - he came to us originally from you, you numpty before you resigned him. As for being back in Div 2 I think you'll find you had a dose of that yourself (then Div 4) in the 80's.

Yes to a certain extent we parked the proverbial bus but so will most clubs outside the top 4 at the Bridge.

Whilst we got a little lucky with Stephen Hunts goal(which did not rebound 3 or 4 times as sevensean suggested) but on the other side of the coin Mikel bought the first goal with a soft free kick at the edge of the box and the winner turned out to be a fluked cross shot in added time.

I can see Ancellotti getting some stick in the way Scalori did in the end and Chelsea supporters will be baying for the return of Guus if his boring diamond formation fails to light the fuse.

Oh and finally.. made me chuckle with the banner I saw with the words .. Money can't buy you everything.. JT + CFC. Presumably referring to Man City. Unbelievable coming from Chelski.

Phil Brown is neither a clown nor did he lose the dressing room after his infamous half time team talk on the Eastlands pitch on Boxing Day - such views merely coincide with cheap and lazy journalism by the so called informed London based media.

Yes, we were poor the second half of last season - but lets not forget we were without £7.5m worth of talent in Bullard and Gardner, had little or no strike force with Cousins out for much of the time with a back injury and had to send Marlon King back to Wigan because of his unsavoury off the field antics. Moreover we held our own in most games post Christmas and nobody wiped the floor with us.

View us more accurately when we have a couple of new faces in the building.

Factor in Jimmy Bullards knee injury, Anthony Gardner's broken back and our decison not to replace bad boy Marlon King in the January transfer window and you would be nearer the mark.

As for kevthered83 an GUNN3ER71 views that 'Hull play the worst football I have ever seen in tdhe top flight' - I would suggest they look at the records of Derby and Sunderland in recent years but in the Arsenal's supporters view of us I don't suppose that has anything to do with the Fabregas incident has it or the fact the we beat their lot at the Emirates early on in the campaign has it?

As for my own Club Hull City - in response to Speedoo99 - we have been inthe second tier of English footbal for two thirds of our history and the CCC is therefore certainly NOT 'higher than we have any right to expect' Furthermore to plin68 we may be punching above our weight at this moment in time but full houses every week this season have demontrated that we have the fan base to stay in the PL.

Also 'never much of a crowd in those days' -sadly true by the time Bill Bremner signed for the club in 1975 but way off when Waggy played - often before crowds over 40000 at Boothferry Park (Chelsea 6th replay 1966 and Stoke 6th Round 1970 to name two highs)
