In #174, you mentioned the 11 ways a batsman can be out - my question concerns the more unusual ones. I remember seeing a few people get out by handling the ball (Graham Gooch for one), but in test matches, how many people have been out:
- hitting the ball twice
- obstructing the field
- timed out
- retired out?

Don't Do It!

My flatmate and I decided to use newspaper when we were students. It resulted in having to call the council one very rainy Winter night to unblock the drains. One of the unblockers complained that some idiot had been wiping their **** with newspaper and it had blocked all the drains. We, naturally, blamed it on the strange woman upstairs.

They really should fly/float Ben Ainsley in for it methinks. My wife wants to see Foster do it, but only if he takes his shirt off.
Pietersen will bring a new style of leadership 10:37am on 05 Aug 2008 I think the decision is a bit harsh on Strauss - I don't have a problem with different captains for different forms of the game if needed.

That aside, what we'll really see now is what Moores is made of. It's been difficult for him to come into an established team with a strong and highly experienced captain (particularly one who still rated the previous coach so highly). Perhaps now, Moores can stamp his authority on the team much as Fletcher did. Whether it's the right authority remains to be seen.

One other thing - why was everyone so surprised at Vaughan's departure? I'd almost assumed it would happen on Saturday evening...
