Is Michael on his cycle? 6:20pm on 06 Oct 2008 i am not someone who does not like owen however for to long he has played one or two games before the international team was announced and was automatically selected.with a lot of help from the press.but as you point out he is not the player he was.also if you play owen up front with no one who can hold the ball up he either scores as he has 40 times.or the ball comes straight back at the defence only a few seconds after the last clearance so just imagine the proportion of goals compared to immediately conceeding possesion.this may be capello's point
Capello may regret Owen exclusion 1:40pm on 01 Sep 2008 its obvious owen is not fit look at the disasters we have suffered in the past when unfit players were included because the press picked the team.so its definately the right decision.all the players in the squad must be fit all owen has to do is play regular first team football well.not declare himself fit for one game and then exspect automatic inclusion
Team of the tournament 10:49am on 04 Jul 2008 thank you for removing my post which had the temerity to suggest that a german player should be in the team.i merely assumed as the team that reached the final and had most of the possesion scored the best set piece and probably the best goals in free play that they might merit inclusion.
