Adrian's Campaign... 5:37pm on 17 Jun 2008 Victoria: having just played catch-up and listened to the interview, I applaud this initiative.

I'm alive today thanks to a bone marrow donation when I was 10; I'm now less than a month from my 37th birthday having been granted what can only be described as the gift of life almost three decades ago.

Obviously there's much more awareness of the issue these days thanks to various elements of our multimedia world, but there can never be enough. And not merely in this area, but in all related ones too.

Good luck to Adrian; I'll be clicking the link to sign his petition in just a moment. And it's no surprise to see Gary Lineker backing it; the man has worked tirelessly on similar campaigns in his commendably humble way for many years now.

Thanks for giving this air-time.

Sorry? Oh, right, yes, the cancer thing. Another review, more strangulation by red tape, and when its findings are implemented we taxpayers will moan about how much the changes are costing. Same old same old...
Consistency v accuracy 05:39am on 17 Jun 2008 I think the fact that the original entry was posted on Friday at lunchtime with not a word in response to the comments pretty much answers that. It's the same on most BBC blogs, with one or two notable exceptions.

David Davis - does he have your support? 10:17pm on 12 Jun 2008 Post 2 here rather demonstrates that politicians from all sides of the House can't win; if they act out of loyalty to their own moral beliefs then they're accused of headline-hunting, and if they don't then they're accused of having no morals (and accused of wasting their Parliamentary privilege if they're not making headlines).

Personally I admire David Davis for standing by his own ethics. Yes, he'll have a strong mandate if he wins the enforced by-election, but he most certainly won't have the backing of the Party. At least he's demonstrated he has backbone, much as the late Robin Cook did.
This man paints doors for a living. 6:37pm on 12 Jun 2008 Whatever anyone says about this 'artist' and the media coverage he receives, the real fools are those who part with six-figure sums to buy the doors.

I'm off to the local DIY store for a new paintbrush and a door.
Top-secret files 6:29pm on 12 Jun 2008 Of course, one of your own correspondents was heard to say on Five Live that the most exciting thing about these documents was the Top Secret strap across the top...

One piece of television news footage was slightly dubious too. It showed the documents being handed over to the police and placed into an evidence bag - outside the main entrance to reception at Television Centre. Surely this was grandstanding; should this not have been done in a much more secure environment?!
Alistair Campbell has a go 6:25pm on 12 Jun 2008 One would assume the 'the people out there' are rather more concerned about what the Prime Minister has to say than the arrogant self-publicising utterances of Mr Campbell. It's fairly obvious which is more relevant to the daily lives of the masses.
