Is it Maradona's time? 09:43am on 29 Oct 2008 i think it's more than ideal. If it all goes wrong and he doesn't cut it, they've got him out of their system (Newcastle and Alan Shearer comes to mind), if it turns out brilliant, then he's even more of a national icon. I hope it turns out well for the little fella, he is and will always be the world's greatest ever footballer and considering where he came from and what he's overcome, it'd be nice to see him succeed.

also, surely his appointment will make the players give 150% when they walk out onto the pitch, afterall they arn't just playing for anybody, they are playing for their childhood hero
Lottery of the tribunal system? 2:24pm on 13 Jul 2008 Chelsea did it to Leeds 2 or so yrs ago for two of our kids, offered us like 1million for the pair, Bates kicked off and apparently we got something like 2.5 million for each (i do stress apparently)

The chase for Marco van Basten 07:03am on 04 Jun 2008 Having seen Huntelaar play for Ajax over the last few seasons myself, I'd say he's better than those strikers i mentioned, he might take a few chances to get a goal (something if i remember correctly, most strikers do), but at least he'll get you one, Hesselink isn't good enough to turn out for Oranje. Kuyt is good to have on the right out wide of the front three, but i wouldn't rely on him to take any chances that come his way. I just don't see how he can keep leaving Huntelaar on the bench and expect him to stay on at Ajax next season
