Don't expect any pledge to end the far-left bias. Don't expect, any time soon, to be educated, informed and entertained about how the world is and not how the left wants it to be.

Got my TV Licensing demand recently. Still haven't decided what to do with it.

A "profile" cannot be convicted; only a human being can. It should have been written as: "'Profiles' retained, if the accused is convicted".

I enjoyed Justin Rowlatt's latest sojourn to Fantasy Land, but he really should see someone about this habit. Seriously, Justin; I'm concerned.

It's abundantly clear, to all but the truly imbecilic, that no American President is ever going to wreck the U.S. economy in a fantastical belief the climate can be controlled, not least because the American people, through a troubling process called 'democracy', wouldn't allow it. I know that we bow to our masters in Brussels, so democracy isn't an issue, but why Justin and his ilk cannot grasp this inconvenient truth is a wonder.

This huff and puff about the changing of the climate won't ever amount to anything, except, perhaps, a colossal waste of my money and further destruction of democracy. If you were prone to flippancy, you could say all this bluster is simply tilting at windmills, so to speak...or talk of a 'low carbon economy' is nothing more than blowing in the wind...or calling for a global deal to tackling global warming is nothing but hot air, etc.

I noticed the camera crew, in Justin's kitchen, required a bit of extra ceiling lighting. I guess, in the real world, those 'planet-saving' 'eco' bulbs just don't cut it, but...shh...let's not mention it. Also, I wouldn't have thought having, effectively, two studios in operation, spinning the electricity meters even faster, would be conducive to reducing one's carbon footprint, but maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps Mr. Rowlatt can claim the extra electricity usage on expenses.

I hope she doesn't mind me referring to her as "European", rather than "French". "One Europe", after all.
Monday 2 November 2009 02:12am on 03 Nov 2009 Why does the U.K. need 70 million people? No-one of any importance seems to have answered this.

What fantastic new services am I to be offered, that requires this increase in the population? Isn't the 'business' mantra, 'out-sourcing', and aren't companies – and the gov't for Heaven's sake – supposed to streamline their operations in these lean times and any other time, for that matter? Just what does the government have in store for us, by 2033? Conscription for a third world war?

Are all the main parties really admitting that, by this date, they'll still be incapable of providing those already here with the education and skills the country supposedly needs, requiring the continued bulk importation of foreigners? Is this how they embark on re-building their battered reputations?

The guests missed the distinction between 'offense' and 'harm'.

Taking offense is different to the pang of physical pain. As words cannot ever harm you and 'offense' is subjective, comedians and everyone else should be free to say what they like. Surely, this is the point the nation's comedians should be using as a weapon against the censors. Ask for proof of the harm you have inflicted, before you alter your speech.

Naturally, a programme may be pretty weak, if the writers resort to ever more expletives to engender laughs, but it doesn't, therefore, follow that expletives should be abandoned because they've out-grown their usefulness. Why should everything be cyclical?

Whether spoken in jest or with malice, words are just words - they disappear into the ether once spoken.

You know, I'm willing to bet a not-inconsiderable sum of money that not a single viewer of last week's Question Time spontaneously become racist because of what was said. Millions were offended, but millions weren't harmed.
