Beijing, over and out - follow that, London! 09:04am on 26 Aug 2008 I thought the song 'Wo Ai Beijing' was fantastic!

It was so catchy and uplifting - I've had it on my mind ever since the Closing ceremony.

It's even my phone's ringtone now, I like it that much.
Monkey's journey begins 08:59am on 29 May 2008 Snaggers, I think you'll find that there have been a lot of different versions made of the story in various countries.

There was a critically acclaimed version that came out in Hong Kong in the mid 90s.

The reason that the 1978 Japanese one is referred to so much is because it was the most popular version that had ever been released.

A more recent version of the story was made in Japan in 2007. The story is a classic, and like any Western classic, there are multiple adaptations and versions being released.
Monkey's journey begins 07:48am on 28 May 2008 I think you're being a bit unfair to the TV show you know as "Monkey" there.

I grew up watching it in the late 80s in Australia, and I have strong fond memories of it.

But aside from that, "Saiyuuki" as it was originally known in Japan (it being a TV series made in Japan in 1978), is a hugely successful and well known adaptation of Journey to the West, infact the first TV version ever made.

I'm a huge fan of every adaptation of Journey to the West. So the Olympic adventures of Sun Wukong (Monkey), Zhu Bajie (Pigsy) and Sha Wujing (Sandy) should be a lot of fun!
