Review: Zero: 9/11 (The Italian Job) 2:39pm on 26 Aug 2008 I agree with everything except the stuff about Milli Vanilli. In their case, the second official account is actually an elaborate conspiracy. They did sing on those records.
Frankie's early exit hangs heavy 6:37pm on 07 Aug 2008 The complaints from the likes of Woodhall are really poor. We are constantly warned that boxers who struggle to make weight increase their risk of serious injury, but now because its the Olympics the lad is chastised.
Bold Pietersen puts faith in Flintoff and Harmison 5:55pm on 06 Aug 2008 The move to 5 bowlers is good and positive. It was bad to see Fred running out of partners when batting well. In terms of the balance of the side, this puts the best batting wicket keeper in strong contention to grasp this awkward position in the team. At the moment that appears to probably be Matt Prior. We can afford the odd drop if it beefs up our batting and allows a 5 man bowling attack. I think that he lost his place because the runs dried up and if he could keep scoring runs, he would be given time to improve his keeping, just like Alec Stewart did. Let's face it, Stuart Broad can bat a bit and we need a foundation from our top 5 to allow the next three batsmen to do their thing.

I liked it when he went around in a Cortina.

Could you get him to do a series of interviews with the heroes of his choice, which might include people like William Friedkin, William Peter Blatty, George Romero, Sam Rami, PT Anderson, Guillermo del Toro, Nick Park etc where he just goes mad at how much he worships their films.

Just get him to make full Culture Show specials with them.

You've expressed my disgust for this tawdry franchise with precision. The automatic reaction from many has been to accuse critics of sexism, without supplying arguments to support this reprehensible bile. The female critic on Newsnight Review who panned it for the same reasons as myself, such as the hideous solipsism and consumerism, was obviously not doing so in a sexist way, and neither am I.

The bottom line is that the attempts at humour are cringe worthy in the extreme. They make me recoil every time I hear them. The sex/colouring 'joke' on the clip shown on the Culture Show is a perfect example of the drivel that appears.

"I'm 41 and I still don't know what it means". Ho and indeed hum.

It is tired, it is hackneyed, it is smug, and it is not funny.
England player ratings 7:33pm on 26 May 2008 Totally harsh on James Anderson. He contributed five wickets, and bowled with hostility which was (due to unfortunate injury) effectively worth an additional 2 wickets, and probably helped other bowlers.

He is not consistent, and that is a worry for how our pace attack is going to work. He still has a lot to prove at this level, and i'm not sure he's good enough to play in the Ashes. He is obviously given less leeway than the young Broad. But the fact is that he did contribute more.

Broad is a young and exciting prospect, but he did not contribute as much to this win as Anderson did, despite his plucky first inning knock.
