Foster key for new-look Twenty20 squad 10:58pm on 01 May 2009 It's about time someone who can keep is in the team rather than someone who can bat a bit. Read and Foster have been appallingly treated. As for Ambrose, he isn't even the best keeper/batsman in Warwickshire (Tony Frost). Good keeper though Foster is I believe that he is better suited to tests and that Phil Mustard should be in the Twenty20 team. He also stands up to the fastest bowlers around (up to 90mph) and his 2020 batting is quite devastating. With regards to the test No. 3, I wonder if anyone has though of sticking Prior there as a specialist batsman?
Ask Bearders #175 6:28pm on 13 Aug 2008 This season 2 bowlers have taken four wickets in four balls on my teams ground. Has there ever been an occurrence of 4 wickets in 4 balls taking place twice in a season or even twice on one ground? Incidentally the fifth ball of the second spell of 4 in 4 was dropped. Both bowlers also ended with figures of five wickets for no run. Have those figures ever occurred twice in a season or even twice on the same ground?

South Africa hold whip hand 8:14pm on 19 Jul 2008 Good blog as usual Aggers but i'd like to point out a slight error. Much as i dislike the selection of Pattinson i have to say that in the laws of the game his wicket was correct. If the batsman is hit on the full between wicket and wicket then the umpire must presume that the ball is going to hit the stumps regardless of whether or not it would have.

I think that England have bowled brilliantly today and showed the South African's where they have gone wrong on the first 2 days. If they use the new ball well tomorrow then i think a first English win at Lords since 2004 could be coming.
P.S. You've got to feel for Collingwood when he's out of form and then gets a bad dismissal but he'll come back strong.
Hindsight is Twenty20 10:27pm on 08 Jul 2008 Just a quick note to say that if Yorkshire get kicked out without the Notts result being changed then Durham will play Glamorgan not Notts. Also, i agree that an away fixture is a brainless idea.

The other day i found out that the most costly drop in first-class cricket was Brian Lara while he was scoring his 501* against Durham.
This got me wondering what the most costly drops in Test and ODI cricket were?

Old Trafford outcome in balance 11:35pm on 25 May 2008 Excellent blog as usual aggers.
I was watching Durham play today and Steve Harmison was bowling very fast and in a very aggressive manner. The England team has lacked a bruising fast bowler in this series and Anderson has been too expensive. I think if Harmison can bowl like he was doing today then he could soon be on his way back to being the world's number one bowler. I also think Jamie Foster or Chris Read should be the keeper because Ambrose is not the right calibre keeper to be playing international cricket and i think his batting isn't quite good enough.
