How to Cope With Death 01:34am on 14 Jun 2008 Great show I'll be watching more as they come. I especially like the animation segment. I love animation, especially Japanese animation , or anime. I sincerely hope you will add some anime to the programme. The BFI, Southbank is doing another "anime weekend" on the 20-22 of June. They'll be screening:

- Paprika
- 5 Centimetres Per Second,
- The Girl who Leapt Through Time
- Vexille
- Appleseed Ex Machina,
- The Place Promised in our Early Days
- Tekkonkinkreet.
With a special guest of Makoto Shinkai, who now lives in London. He wrote and produced "5cm Per Second" and "The Place Promised" He is touted as the new "Miyazaki" in the anime world. Please check it out, and get him on your show if you can.
NHS at 60 - A picture of health 00:25am on 06 Jun 2008 The NHS is 60 and showing her age. This service is like the Fire service. Too much fire fighting, but not enough fire prevention. Most of the money that successive Governments have poured in seems to have vanished into hefty pay awards for the management and pension schemes for doctors and nurses whilst some patients die before they can get the operation, or treatment to prolong their life, or get infections from dirty hospitals, or be unlucky to live in a post code that the local trust will not provide treatment, and medicine that the next post code over provides for free. It seems all the politicians can do is tinker round the edges to make it look like they are doing something about it when all they are doing is creating paper chases and useless targets to make them look good. They will say "poppy cock", but then they use private health care, don't they? All paid for with our blood , sweat, and taxes.
Oil shocks 01:42am on 31 May 2008 Governments of both colours have spent the last 50 odd years getting us into our cars and travelling further afield for work and pleasure. Now suddenly they want to change all that overnight? The greens should stop living in their hippy hallucinated utopia, dreaming that we are all going to go back to living like 1000 years ago in small close villages that one lives and dies in and no one leaves, and everything we need is home grown, or shipped in by horse and cart. Regress is not progress, so sober up and snap out of it.

The government, nor the brewers, nor the retailers attacked that poor guy who now has to live his life with one eye. No one held those two morons on the ground and poured that booze down their throats and then told them to go attack someone. I commend their mother for doing the right thing and it's because there are not enough mothers out there like her, who have a civil conscience to do this, that we are left to have to deal with more and more of it. This is the harvest of the "Free love" of the 70's and the "there is no such thing as society" seeds that were sown in the 80's and 90's. No society is anarchy as we can now see everyday. If my children did what these two idiots did I'd shop them too without hesitation, because I have educated them to know right from wrong, and that as adults society demands they are responsible for their actions and will hold them accountable, and if they will not learn that my way, they will learn it the hard way. That mother should get a medal from the Queen.
Thursday, 22 May, 2008 00:00am on 23 May 2008 Where is public transport when I need to go to work at 2 in the morning, or when I need to go home from work at 4 in the morning? Also why is it other nations like the US can cut their fuel tax to nothing, but we have a government that needs to raise it yet another 2 pense on top the 90% tax we already pay? It may not be the governments fault that the price of oil is sky rocketing out of control, though their dirty little war in Iraq might be a contributing factor, I'm sure they would be the first to admit. But the extortionate fuel tax is definitely their fault, and one they could easily correct if they really felt they are doing everything they can to help us through this crisis. Alack it seems the concept has yet to spark inside their collective minds.
