The rights to highlight 12:58pm on 09 Aug 2009 I liked the show, good to see its not just a copy of MOTD and was pleasantly surprised by the new studio, I expected it to be the usual BBC Sport studio.

I will reserve my complete judgement until it has been going for a few weeks but so far so good and a defnitite improvement on ITV. It is better than MOTD IMO as well which has become stale and needs a make-over. This show on the other hand seems fresh and modern.

One criticism, who created the title music? Everyone I have spoken to agress it is rubbish, I thought at first there was a problem with my TV, it just doesn't sound right IMO, almost as if someone forgot to add the main part.

I have some questions although you probably won't be able to answer most of them which is understandable, perhaps you can ask the Editor of the new show or someone else to do a blog? I reads

When there are games on a Sunday is there any chance that the goals will be shown on MOTD2? Or on Inside Sport (when it is on) on a Monday like is already done for Premier League Matches.

On the odd occassion when there are Football League Matches but no Premier league matches will the show be moved to an earlier time slot to give it more exposure?

Will the live matches come under "The Football League Show" branding with mnaish presenting etc... will they be covered by MOTD?

Will there be new features and blogs on the Football League on the website (like was done when F1 returned to the BBC earlier this year) or will it mostly stay the same?

Are the Play Off Highlights to be shown online? I am guessing they will be but don't think I've seen any specific reference to them.

The Conspiracy Files: 7/7 2:34pm on 24 Jun 2009 It is amazing how so many people try to turn any discussion which happens to mention Muslims into a discussion into how we should blame Muslims for everything. Just a bit of advice, if you are going to do this then don't make stupid mistakes such as suggesting British people and Muslims are two separate groups, many people follow Islam and also consider themselves British. Also, being Muslim does NOT make you a terrorist any more so than being Catholic. It is pathetic idiots who believe that stuff that are destroying the country.

Anyway, as to this particular subject I do not see it as pandering to any particular group of people. Whether or not you believe any conspiracy to do with 7/7 (and a surprising amount of people of various backgrounds do believe) you should be pleased to see that offical statements are just being accepted and alternative explanations are considered, it all ties in with our "freedom". Conspiracy theory programmes on TV can often be dismissed as cheap entertainment but if done right they can provide a good public service.

I will watch this programme not because I happen to think the authorities are lying but because I will be interested to learn more about the views of other people regarding the subject. I have found previous Conspiracy Files episodes to be interesting even though conspiracy theorists will inevitably say the programme was biased and is simply covering up the truth, maybe this time it is, I look forward to watching the episode and deciding for myself.

The vast majority of under 12 year olds (which can go as low as about 5 years old for a CBBC audience) do not read any newspaper, let alone The Telegraph. Although you are right in saying they are far smarter than they are credited for they do not use "Adult Language" for want of a better phrase and have extensive knowledge of "Adult Things" such as expenses.

The Newsround report is not patronising, it was well constructed and outlined the simple facts of the story in a clear way. To suggest that it is patronising simply because they use simple explanations is wrong. A normal news report would have given them some idea but not as much as this.

However, I have a problem with one part of the blog;

Perhaps you simply mean "get them on board" in terms of their interest but it sounds as if you are trying to make them automatically think it is wrong. It is not your place to do that and you should be careful not to be trying to get anyone "on board" a certain opinion, your an impartial news service, not a campaign group.
BBC iPlayer on Virgin: 100 Million Views 1:53pm on 15 Feb 2009 To ChevaanSeres (3),

I believe it currently isn't possible to have the iplayer (or anything similar) on SKY because in order to do it there needs to be some two-way communication and satellite is obviously only one way if you understand me. I think the only way it could be done would be to stream every programme individually as if they all had their own channel which obviously there isn't enough room for. That is the reason why SKY's anytime service is via their website rather than through the TV.

In regards to the 100 million views that is a great figure and a very positive sign. Both the BBC and Virgin have been great at promoting and developing this new way to watch TV (obviously Virgin is for commercial reasons) and I hope you keep up the good work.

However, as has already been mentioned, the iPlayer is not completely the same on all platforms, for example, the SIx Nations is available online but not via Virgin, presumably this is due to broadcast rights etc.. I hope you are trying as much as possible to make it equal though.

Also, it is currently unreliable through Virgin and the service is often not available at all. I expect this is a problem with Virgin rather than you as it is the same for all on demand content. Do you have any influence or input over improvements to their network? I expect that if you could help them to sort out these problems then it will be even more than 100 million progammes being viewed..
We'd like your feedback 3:27pm on 29 Oct 2008 First of all, the show needs to be longer, I understand that may be out of your control but at the moment it is too short and so everything seems rushed to me. Again, it also needs to be on at an earlier time, either BBC One does want this programme or it does not. Hiding it away at such a late time is just stupid. I know it is repeated on BBC News and there is the i-player but itdoesn't feel the same as when the show is originally on.

I fear the late time slot of the show is because of low audience figures (I don't actually know how well Inside SPort does with viewing figures) but I have a crazy idea that the late time slot of the show might just contribute towards less viewers.

I think using more people in the studio is better, especially since the same 3 people being used all the time had become a bit too repetitive. I do like Des, Steve and Tony though so please do keep using them as the "main" pundits.

I would also like to see more of the features where you look at unknown/unusual sports instead of just pure straight forward interviews with the big stars. I enjoy and remember Tony Livesey trying sumo wrestling more than repetitive, ordinary interviews with a football manager or something. Saying that I did enjoy the interview with Phil Brown and I wouldn't want to see the interviews scrapped.

I also want to raise another issue, I remember either yourself or someone else associated with Inside Sport saying they want to be careful and make sure it doesn't become all about football. Football is my main sport but there is enough shows on TV that focus on the sport and thats why I like the idea of Inside Sport focusing on others and promoting the minority sports. However, it seems to me that more and more of the limited time is being used up with football. That might just be my imagination but watch out as I don't think any member of the public is looking for yet another football programme.

I enjoy Inside Sport but it seems some people at the BBC are intent on ruining it with late time slots, short durations etc....

I seem to remember many people including myself saying it should be on earlier than what was its usual time slot. Seems you have gone the other way with 11.30? NOt a great time at al for the start of a new season.

Also a bit strange about the i-player, why such a wait after the programme is shown?

Everything else sounding good though, glad to hear your taking more advantage of the people you have available at BBC Sport, also happy about the debate programme, something I suggested along with others which seemed popular so good to see you are taking on board our views.

Just try to make seeing the programme a bit more convenient please instead of what seems to be hiding it away.
Olympics brings in impressive audiences across BBC 12:40pm on 10 Aug 2008 Most people's gut reaction to hearing there are 437 BBC employees in Beijing but when you actually look at it, it is not a massive amount considering just how much you are doing. On TV,there are up to 6 live events on at a time (with BBCi) plus people needed at other events not being shown, then there is the highlights programme. Then there is radio and online also providing a lot of coverage. Just because it is not the BBC in control of the main cameras it doesn't mean there is nothing else they need to do.

Yes there could be less people but that would mean poorer coverage. Euro 2008 is a good example, every football fan I know preferred the BBC's coverage because the BBC was in Vienna rather than staying in Britain like ITV. When you compare to other networks like NBC it is quite clear that it is not a massive amount.

In the end it is the audience figures that will justify your decisions and I am glad to see everything has started well. I'm enjoying the coverage very much so far.
BBC iPlayer 2.0: Sneak Preview 4:09pm on 25 Jun 2008 Whilst I'm pleased you continue to improve the iPlayer (and you are doing a good job by the looks of it) may I ask that you don't forget about improving it on all platforms, not just the website.

Despite claiming that the iPlayer is now available on Virgin Media it does not have as large a choice of programmes as the website, this is most notable with the sport which despite Euro 08 and Wimbledon currently in progress has only one programme available, The Super League Show. The usability and navigation of it is also nowhere near as good through Virgin Media, nor does it contain the features such as "Most Popular" let alone the new features you talk about in this blog. I cannot speak for the Nintendo Wii or the iPhone as I have not tried the iPlayer on them but I am probably right in thinking it is the same situation.

Basically, please do continue to improve the service, it is a great credit to the BBC and you are deservedly recieving the praise for it, but please make sure you focus on improving every platform, not just online. Or at the very least, don't brag about the ways you can use the iPlayer if it is not really the case that it's an equal service with everything.
First audience figures in for Euro 2008 1:16pm on 12 Jun 2008 I have said repeatedly that Euro 2008 will still get large audiences so I am not surprised by this. Like you say, people still have an interest even if the home nations are not present.

I have enjoyed the coverage so far and think your decison to have all the presentation teams in Austria was the right one. The BBC coverage just has a better feel and atmosphere to it compared to ITV who have stayed in the UK.

The online features and BBCi features have also been a good companion to the TV and radio coverage. I have especially enjoyed watching clips of old tournaments and MOTD unplugged has been good although it could get more behind the scenes like was promised and show everyone at work and what is involved, just having pundits/commentators reiterating what has already been said on MOTD about matches is a waste of the show IMO.

Keep up the good work though, you are doing much better than ITV and I fell it will only get better as the tournament progresses.
