They think it's all Oval... 10:01pm on 17 Aug 2009 In answer to a couple of posts. Henry Blofeld unfortunately will not be with us at the Oval - he is unavailable because of other commitments. But rest assured Blowers fans he will be back during the forthcoming ODI series. In answer to listening "in deepest Dordogne" ... can you get online if so you can follow our commentary at bbc.co.uk/cricket.
I should also mention if you can't wait for Thursday for your fix of Ashes drama then you must check out the brilliant TMS Ashes Archive. All the details at www.bbc.co.uk/ashesarchive. The archive goes back as far as the 1928/29 series where Don Bradman made his Test Match debut and Walter Hammond inspired England to a four one series victory, but it also includes more recent action including the best moments from the 2005 series.
And whilst I'm plugging things look out for the latest edition of "TMS -The Mitchell Show" Alison Mitchell's behind the scenes look at the Test Match available soon plus there are two Radio Four programmes that may interest you. "The Reunion" is focussing on the Kerry Packer revolution with guests including our own CMJ plus Tony Greig and Jeff Thomson. Its broadcast on Sunday 23rd August at 11.15am (rpt Friday 28 Aug at 9am)and Dave Podmore offers his Ashes thoughts on Radio Four on Wednesday 19th August from 2300.
Another incomparable Ashes Test 1:35pm on 13 Jul 2009 In answer to a couple of queries. Not only was there a tense finish to the match, there was also a tight battle when it came to our Champagne moment. At one stage there was a four way tie ,but the award eventually went to the Australian captain Ricky Ponting for the six which carried him to his 150 - not sure it was much of a consolation but at least he could drown his sorrows last night.Also the Max Boyce interview has been put on this site - details at http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/8146027.stm. We will try and put as much of our special interviews for you to be able to listen again.
TMS ready for magical Ashes 11:36am on 03 Jul 2009 Re post 4 - Jeff Thompson will be with us during the One Day series so you will be able to hear him. Also Matthew Hayden will be part of the TMS team for the final three Ashes Tests.
Re post 6 - Phil Tufnell will be part of the TMS team at Lords, Headingley and the Oval. Unfortunately Robert Croft will be playing for Glamorgan during most of the Test but we might try and grab a word with him at the weekend.
Re post 3 - I'm flattered that you think I schedule Five Live's output as well as being the cricket producer ! I am not responsible for deciding when "Yes its the Ashes" is broadcast. Throughout the Ashes summer I hope you will enjoy the range of our coverage on the BBC from Test Match Special's ball by ball commentary on Five Live Sports Extra and Radio 4 Long Wave to the extensive coverage on Five Live and other BBC outlets.
My World Twenty20 predictions 09:43am on 21 Jun 2009 Greetings from Lords. A real sense of excitement here ahead of finals day. Don't forget to join Jonathan Agnew and Alison Mitchell at 10 on Five Live Sports Extra for England v New Zealand in the women's final. This is of course a re-match of the 50 Over World Final won by England in February. Joining Jonathan and Alison will be former England captain Rachael Heyhoe-Flint and former fast bowler Lucy Pearson twice England player of the year who once took eleven wickets in an Ashes Test.
Then the men's final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be over on FIVE LIVE from 3pm after the British Grand Prix. Jonathan Agnew and Arlo White will be joined by Geoff Lawson who coached Pakistan in the final of this competition two years ago plus Dermot Reeve and Phil Tufnell.
Promises to be a great day - hope you join us for it. I'm still going for Sri Lanka in the men's final and hoping for England in the first game , although it will not be easy !
England face up to Aussies 12:02pm on 17 Jun 2009 Just to let you know there will be ball by ball commentary on both Women's Semi-Finals on Five Live Sports Extra with sunday's final also on Radio Four Long Wave. In answer to post 3 I am sorry if you missed our updates from Taunton yesterday. Alison Mitchell was reporting regularly during both our Twenty20 coverage and on Five Live. As well as updates we also included an extensive preview of the game including an interview with Holly Colvin. We have reported on all of England's matches so far as well as including interviews with Charlotte Edwards, Sarah Taylor and the head of women's cricket Clare Connor. This is the biggest ever year for BBC Radio coverage of the women's game starting with the World Cup in Australia where Alison Mitchell was the only British reporter at the event. We carried ball by ball commentary on the final and as I mentioned we are providing commentary on the closing stages of the Women's Twenty20. Plus I am also pleased to announce that BBC radio will provide commentary on the climax of the Women's Ashes Test at New Road in July.

England v the Netherlands is on Radio 4 LW and Five Live Sports Extra from 5pm on Friday 5th June. On Saturday New Zealand v Scotland and India v Bangladesh will be on Five Live Sports Extra with Australia v West Indies on Radio 4 LW as well as Five Live Sports Extra.
In answer to the enquiries about the scheduling of the TV Highlights - I don't work in Television but I have been sent this response.

"BBC 2 is showing the World Twenty20 highlights ,and we would expect it to attract the largest TV audiences in the UK for this event.
Our contract with the live rights holders prevents us transmitting before 10 pm. Newsnight has a fixed slot of 10 30 , and so the first available slot that we normally have to show cricket highlights at a reasonable length is after Newsnight at 11 20"
All set for the World Twenty20 12:29pm on 29 May 2009 In answer to Post 1. The TV Coverage will be presented by Manish Bhasin and Rishi Persad with daily contributions from members of the commentary team such as Jonathan Agnew, Dermot Reeve and Dougie Brown.In answer to post 2 - It is really difficult to predict this competition. I would personally make India favourites with their powerful batting line-up including the likes of Yuvraj Singh and a bowling attack which should do well in English conditions. Plus the IPL will have given the Indian stars lots more experience of the Twenty20 format. South Africa will have a great chance, rule out Australia at your peril and I have a strange feeling Sri Lanka may do well. As for England they at least go into the competition in form so who knows !
And in answer to Ryan post 4 - you can celebrate your birthday with Radio 4 and Five Live Sports Extra from 5pm and then TV highlights that evening on BBC 2 from 11.35pm.
Tests give way to one-day action 4:59pm on 22 May 2009 Don't miss commentary on the Friends Provident quarter-finals saturday morning from 1105. We'll have coverage of all three games being played. Simon Mann and Andrew Caddick will be at Somerset v Sussex and Steve May and Angus Fraser at Hampshire v Middlesex for the two 1045 starts. Then its Lancashire v Essex from 1200 with Arlo White and Martyn Hindley joined by Mal Loye and Graham Gooch.
An eventful week in Antigua 9:24pm on 20 Feb 2009 In answer to point 7 all I can offer is this
