Ashes hero Jones says hit the Aussies hard 2:18pm on 05 Jul 2009 Jonah is an absolute legend.

He'll always be remembered as a hero from '05.
I'm gutted he hasn't featured since then, but I am delighted to say that I played alongside him in the Hollywood Ashes victory over Steve Waugh's XI.
Jonah lead the bowling with Rob Key opening the batting.
Former W.I. test bowler Franklin Rose hit the winning runs for England (don't ask) as the Aussies were humiliated again in front of a packed crowd at Woodley Cricket Fields in Los Angeles.

Bill Frindall (1939-2009) 6:19pm on 30 Jan 2009 A very meticulously crafted innings has been very sadly cut short.

He will be sadly missed by many, many, friends around the world.

My condolences to the Frindall family, and thank you for sharing Bill with us for so many years.

Bill's legacy to the sport will not be lost.

The fielding captain decides to negate this problem and goes with one slip and a gully on each side, just in case.

The batsman has a clear advantage because he has occupied extra fielders in the slips.

The fielding captain can't post either a fine-leg or a 3rd-man because this would be a no-ball (3 behind square on leg-side).

MCC .... solve this one.

How about a batsman stands in left/right-handed neutral position, completely facing the bowler with no declaration as to which way he's going to bat. (like in French-Cricket)

He's wearing gloves that protect both thumbs and 2 thigh pads.

The fielding captain assumes he's right-handed and posts 2 slips and a gully in the appropriate places.

As the bowler reaches his delivery stride, the batsman chooses left-handed.

When the ball is delivered, does the umpire have to call no-ball for 3 behind square on the leg-side ?
Laws should change for switch-hitters 8:45pm on 18 Jun 2008 If you look at Mal Loye playing the shot he doesn't switch his hands at all. Unlike KP who plays the shot as a left-hander would, Mal Loye kept his hands positioned as a right-hander and just turned the blade. This tactic is often used in a reverse-sweep.
Does this mean he has played a different shot ? and should this shot be treated differently ?
Does anyone remember the wide-open stance that Peter Willey used ?
If you just take this a little further and stand facing the bowler in a completely neutral off/leg stance, then how does the umpire determine which is the off-side ?
Does the batsman have to declare this to the bowler prior to the delivery ?
Permanent daylight 8:44pm on 16 May 2008 Floodlights - Nonsense.
All that will mean is more cricket !!
With more cricket we'll get less banter from the TMS team.
I say that if we have floodlights, we must turn them off for 20 minutes every hour so that Blowers can have a special guest drop by the box.
All this commercialization can be bad for the game. - Next we'll have TV Time-outs, rolling subs, and cheerleaders... Oh, well we have cheerleaders already. Will they have to adjust their make-up if they're performing under lights ?
