Yep, weaker family ties, plus travelling, plus relationships, means things turn out that way. Add kids and their schooling, and here I am, a dual citizen and still living in Italy.

Interest in Politics came from my father-he was a FDR Liberal, altho he lived for some time in England-as an engineer he travelled widely. I have fond childhood memories of canvassing, and giving people lifts to the pollong stations etc. both in England and in America. It lad to getting a degree in Politics, and later in American History.

As a Hillary supporter however, I am pretty disgusted with the Dimmicrat Party at the moment.

Theodore Roosevelt's 'Winning of the West' is always useful too.
As a child my favorite writers were O.Henry and Damon Runyon- musts for British travellers.

It would be lovely if you were to do a post on American local Libraries for example.

Lotta sense on Palin 5:26pm on 16 Sep 2008 Journalists can say whatever they like about Gov.Palin, the fact is that a lot of people like and respect her. She has very high ratings in her State, in contrast to the single digit favorable ratings of the present do-nothing Dimmicrat Congress.

Furthermore, women who knew, liked and admired Hillary Clinton, were suddenly woken up to the sexist bias and mendacity of the majority of Washington and NY based journalists.

Although these women do not know Palin, a newcomer and outsider to the scene, in quite the same way as they felt they knew Hillary, they are willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, and to take any news story about her with a large grain of salt.

It's known as a news media loss of credibility. (total loss of trustworthiness and expertise)
Palin's bounce - and Ferraro's 08:38am on 15 Sep 2008 BTW I find sitting Governor Palin to be quite a savvy politician-which is why she has such high ratings in her state.

That said, the Palin phenomenon will wear off just as the BO phenom has.

However that factor only has to last another 52 days. Obama had a run of 19 months, really less because his aura started to wear off in late February. Still the SDs bought the 'I can redraw the map' meme and they loved the money, but now they are finding that both are not living up to expectations.
