The People's Politician 6:46pm on 25 Nov 2009 What about the people who haven't heard of blogging or Twitter? It seems that they won't be as included in this experiment as those who are familiar with blogs and Twitter. It should be just as easy for them to participate in the experiment.
RealMedia - an update 1:55pm on 08 Oct 2009 Can you do me a favour and make it possible for the Windows Media player streams to play in Real Player? It is possible to play .asx files used by other radio stations in Real Player if I want to use Real Player.

BBC local radio stations are so quiet, especially when they provide live sports commentaries. Using Real Player's equaliser, I can make the commentary louder, and there is more of an atmosphere.

It was annoying during Wimbledon when I couldn't use Real Player like I did in 2008 to play the matches.
Mercury 3:01pm on 09 Sep 2009 La Roux should have won. The La Roux album is the only album I have bought this year and I think most of the songs on there are exceptionally great. The songs are catchy and unique.
BBC Archive: The outbreak of WWII 9:28pm on 04 Sep 2009 I think there is some great audio in that collection. The report on the evacuation of children from London was inciteful and I was amazed and surprised by what I heard in that report. It would be great if the morning broadcast, from 10:00-12:00 on September 3rd 1939 could be added, with the PM's announcement included.

I think that the On This Day section for World War 2 should be updated with more audio, and news items from before and after the war.
A Gay Soldier Speaks Out 11:06am on 27 Aug 2009 Kerry Fletcher was right to fight the MOD. One year ago, I would have had a less sympathetic attitude. It's hard to understand the emotional impact of discrimination and discriminatory bullying when you haven't experienced or witnessed it. It can cause people sleepless nights, and make them too stressed or fearful to go to the place where the bullying is happening.

The staff sergeant should have been fired. It is a shame people like him aren't personally held responsible for their actions. He should be prosecuted and punished for his actions.

People have criticised the amount of money Kerry Fletcher has received. The MOD is evidently not sorry for what has happened. If it was, it wouldn't be appealing. It would employ somebody to fire, and name and shame everybody in the army who has a discriminatory attitude. The MOD should have to pay Kerry Fletcher more money for failing to display genuine remorse and regret for what she went through, and it should pay her double the pention the Sergeant who discriminated against her will receive, as he shouldn't be getting anything.

Kerry Fletcher is inspirational. Her message is simple. If you're being treated differently or bullied because of factors such as sexual orientation, gender, disability or race, you should fight against it. Keep battling until you've won, even if it takes years or decades. You are in the right, and the discriminators are in the wrong. The longer and harder you have to fight, the greater your victory will be.
Crowd trouble club-by-club 6:07pm on 26 Aug 2009 Interesting article. I think that a good formula for compiling league tables on hooliganism would be to divide the amount of arrests by the average away attendance for away incidents, and by the average home attendances for home incidents, then multiply by 100. Though the percentages would be very low, it would be possible to work out which team actually has the most badly behaved fans.
BBC iPlayer gets a little more radio 9:12pm on 19 Jun 2009 Now that the BBC can offer sport on demand, is it likely that we will be able to listen to sports events on demand that haven't been broadcast on 5 live or Sports Extra, such as football matches featured on Match of the Day?

How much is this on demand sports coverage costing the licence payer?

It would be great if some of the sports events were in stereo, so they sounded like they do on the TV. Could this be looked into for internet streams?
From 'Taleban' to 'Taliban' 12:12pm on 02 Jun 2009 @Adam it would be interesting to know what prompted the discussion about Taleban verses Taliban, who contributed to these discussions, and how a decision was eventually reached. I wonder which news organisations other than The Times still use Taleban?
BBC News and disabled audiences 6:23pm on 19 Feb 2009 News readers have been told to read out URLS when referring to news stories on the web? Have you not seen how long some of the URLs are? Take http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7896418.stm. Must a news reader really read that out?

What's next? Will the news readers have to describe all of the on-screen images that go with each story so that the visually impaired get as much out of each story as those who can see? Has the term "as you can see" also been banned?

I believe BBC Parliament comes under BBC News. Is the BBC considering employing somebody to tell the visually impaired which MP is speaking like they do on the radio in PMQs? How far is this going to go?
Better audio for BBC Radio online 9:07pm on 17 Feb 2009 @ James - Will those streams still be available when the new streams you are working on come out of beta? If not, will links to direct stream URLs be made available for people who use devices which cannot support the iPlayer, and people who want to listen to the audio without having a web browser open?

Will the BBC's local radio stations use the new streaming format?

Earlier you described iPlayer as "a mass-market consumer product". I thought iPlayer was a public service? The way you described it makes it sound commercial to me.
