A final essay on Europe 3:26pm on 01 Aug 2009 We have no common heritage with the political class of Europe. We do not share a common philosophy, theology, language or culture with "Europe". We are, as Churchill said, separate fromn them. The EU has been built on lies and on stealth and has disemboweled Parliament to the point where Parliament is unnecessary. Europe always makes Britain bleed for it.
The argument about the EU keeping the peace has been show to be a lie. The BAOR and the 8th Air Force and the USAF and US Army kept the peace in Europe and now it doesn't have sufficient military will to defend itself from the enemies within. I like some things European such as French nationalism (and pretty well everything French from the Champs Elysee to the Vendee Globe, her wine and her spacious beauty, German cars and engineering, Spanish family life and the intensity of night life in the Bodegas, the carelessness of the Italians and that is about where it stops. The EU political classes are the most anti democratic since the Politburo and the EUParliament is as the Duma before the Czar. The EU will eventually cause the war its architects willed to never happen again. You cannot force disparate people together without holding them by force. That is how Tito ruled successfully and why the EU will fail. Sadly the British have been genetically culled from the slaughter of the '14-'18 war to the destruction of the few and now those with survivalist instincts have left or are planning to leave. Europe as a political idea has been and will always be our Nemesis. Anyone with a modicum of understanding of history would have spotted the EEC/EC/EU/USE for what it was from 1972 on. For those who have not learned history which means all of those who have been "educated" since the sixties, go and read Hayek's "The Road To Serfdom", that will tell you where socialism leads, then read Leonard Peikoff's "The Ominous Parallels" and you will see we are back in the thirties and heading for another European war. Mad? I think not. Realistic? Yes, and sorry but that is the future of this wretched "Project". The EU has not buried nationalism, Mark, it has become its Midwife.

What spending would you cut? 5:30pm on 24 Apr 2009 1. READ and UNDERSTAND the Taxpayer's Alliance FACTS which outline and identify 110 BILLION pounds of waste aNNUALLY.

2. Cease all payments to the EU which is a parasite on our nation and has 14 years of unaudited accounts. The EU is anti democratic, Soviet by construction and has sucked 200 Billion from our pockets. In simple terms it costs us taxpayers 106,000 that is one hundred and six thousand pounds per MINUTE.

3. Deport ALL illegal aliens.

4. Deport ALL aliens including EU member state's citizens who are in jails in the UK.

5. Make ALL foreign residents pay 100 pounds a month health tax.

6. Cut half the civil service jobs which are Common Purpose driven or administrative ONLY no cuts
in front line services.

7. Toss out the fascist ID Card and NHS ID schemes and consign them to the rubbish bin.

8. Let counties manage their own budgets and stop central government stealing money from efficient
counties such as Dorset.

There are so many cuts it would be easy to make if the politicians were not so remote from the people with their fat greedy faces in the trough of the producing class. Any economics graduate with a 1st class honours degree should be able to cut waste sufficiently to allow tax CUTS for those earning less than 25,000 a year.
The government is staffed by fourth rate no hopers.
Newsnight & Newsnight Review: Friday, 17 April, 2009 7:03pm on 17 Apr 2009 Clemency Burton Hill is seriously high cotton and possibly the best person Newsnight could wish for. Can't the BBC make her anchor of a political / arts program on the lines of Panorama or The Brains Trust? Now that would make it worth paying the license fee. What a babe. No doubt some PC censor will cut this remarque.

It's the Directives, stoooopid!

Long and tedious discussions from political hacks have been devoted to Gordon Brown's "controversial" plans to part-privatise the Royal Mail. Not least has been the oft' posed question, "why is he putting himself out on a limb like this, when it is so unpopular?"

The subject is heavily rehearsed in the print media and online, where the likes of The Guardian purport to give us a complete background briefing, while Edward Heathcoat-Amory tells us in The Daily Mail that privatisation is essential for the survival of the service.

But nowhere will you find any mention of the real reason for Brown's "enthusiasm" (at least, not anywhere I can find). What you do see though, is news that the Tories are considering helping out Mr Brown in his endeavours to implement the Postal Services Directives. And he really needs their help. The "full market opening", under EU rules, must be in place by 2010.

It thus comes as no surprise to learn that Kenneth Clarke has promised to vote for the part-privatisation plan. That really tells you all you need to know. But are the Tories really that stupid? Or is it, as Iain Dale suggests, they don't know how to spell o-p-p-o-s-i-t-i-o-n?

The same ignorance is common regarding the hideously inefficient wind turbine electricity generation whose costs exceed any possible benefit. As for cars I have a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo with a 225bhp engine special suspension and Jetex exhaust, 2.3 9000 clutch and head, Ford Motorsport injectors and from a standing start to 40 it is like a lame camel, but from 40 - 150 WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

This folks is the Karma for GREED and for screwing the little people who can't fight back. It is the TILT on the lottery / craps table of modern capitalism. It is the ultimate resting place of venal greed. I remortgaged before the place went to hell and I was asked to state the value of my home. It could have been anything as there were no checks at all. Nothing. So the only thing I have to tell you is that you STILL ain't seen nothing yet because the USA is bankrupt which is why the M3 figures are never given.
