Duly elected 10:35am on 25 Jul 2008 I feel ill. You know there will be love lost between the nations. It's not hard to push for independence based on hatred and mutual animosity, oppression and bloody-mindedness. The real trick is to find the truth of the matter. To show respect; and to understand that any relationship has its good points and bad points.

I predict plenty short-sightedness and yet hope against hope for proper progress for all those concerned. The aching silence of this debate bodes ill to my mind. If this is divorce then why-oh-why is there no mediation or counselling taking place? It's just a bloody battle, isn't it?

Anyway, raise the standards; fly the flag. Let's get it seen to. There will be winners and losers, same as ever. Remember to be who you are.

Lisbon: A hard sell 10:46am on 13 Jun 2008 Yes, well; at least it spurred me to read a few articles on Wikipedia to find out something about the EU. Maybe it doesn't matter whether the Treaty is ratified or not. There seem to be big things afoot in this neck of the woods altogether. Maybe I should run for president? Or maybe not.
Happy St George's Day! 11:37am on 24 Apr 2008 In fact, that's what should be done: we should have a dancing competition. Scotland vs. England, traditional and contemporary events. In Berwick-on-Tweed. The winner decides which country the town is to be in. Get Tiesto as impartial MC; and Michael Flatley as one of the judges. If it's a dead heat then just run the whole thing again next year. How does that sound? It might be a winner.

As for Georgey boy - well, by all the saints these are still Christian nations I think. God may have a few surprises for us yet I reckon. God is love.

Red, white and blue. Green, pink and yellow. Who's to say who's right? One thing that we can be pretty sure of is that suffering and injustice and all the usual human traits will go on. So let's find our fun where we can. Bring on the dancers; that's what I say.
