Happy Birthday, Walter Cronkite. 92 today. 12:16pm on 04 Nov 2008 How nice to see (and hear ) Walter's cheerful, avuncular face and voice again.
He was an essential part of my life--until I moved across the pond in the summer of 1981. All the big events--the death of JFK,
the nightly 'score' in the Vietnam War,
Watergate, the bombing of Cambodia,
were filtered through his presentation on
the CBS evening news (I wouldn't have
dreamed of watching any other anchorman). Happy Birthday Walter!
(Any chance, Eddie, of getting him on
the phone today to sing Happy Birthday to
him??)
Homepage Two Months On 10:22am on 24 Apr 2008 what happened to radio on the home page?
I liked knowing what was on radio four at the moment. The progamme box has vanished.
