The real debate has scarcely begun 3:24pm on 10 Nov 2009 I enjoy Gordon Brown bashing as much as the next man, but i'm very uneasy about laying into him over this letter. You know at least he bothered to write and clearly he wanted to make it personal by handwriting the letter - however imperfect it was.

As far as the soldier's Mother is concerned, she is understandably hurting very badly and i'm guessing that nothing will console her for a very long time. I suspect that the incorrect spellings were the straw that broke the cammel's back in this case. She's angry and she believes, probably rightly so, that her son could have been saved with better resources.

The argument over lack of resources is no doubt valid, but on this occaision, please leave the man alone. It's not right.

Newsreader: "Right now in the hall David Cameron is as we know it is going through the speech for tomorrow...er..What's that likely to Contain"

Nick: "Well, once again the Prime Minister will once again want to concentrate on the big issue.......etc"

Yep but they don't go around starting illegal wars and generally messing where they are not wanted.

I think David Cameron missed a trick in PMQ. Given that anyone with half a brain or more knows that all parties are planning cuts, when challenged about the tory cuts, Cameron should have just unreservedly admitted it there and then. This would have completely knocked the wind out of Labour's sails and forced them into a corner.
