Elementary, my dear Watson 4:50pm on 14 Aug 2009 There is nothing to discuss he was convicted, and has only decided to drop his appeal because he thinks it will set him free quicker, the best thing to do is let him rot in prison, and tell the English government to keep out as it none of their concern due to it being a Scottish criminal case in which the English government has no say whatsoever.
iPlayer: BBC v BT 2:26pm on 03 Jun 2009 First off everyone not using cable for BB have to use a BT line so they are automatically subjected to BTs terms for BB connections to either BT or which ever ISP they use this includes Virgins ADSL BB service, so no matter who your ISP is you will never get the speeds they say you can get until BT change from copper to fiber.

The whole point of upgrading to Virgin Medias 50mbps service is for faster downloads and no fup, also if you can afford it upgrade to the 50mb on the VIP package on VM and it only costs £10 extra and you get a new modem (capable of speeds up to the new 200mb currently being tested) and a Wireless Netgear Router able to provide fast wireless connections.

@24 upgrading your PS3 to a bigger HD drive will invalidate your warranty and the 360 has media centre to connect it to a PC for video, music and picture streaming

@30 HD gaming has always been available on the PC as you have the option of increasing the game resolution, and it was not until TV manufacturers mentioned it when everyone jumped on the bandwagon

yes i may sound like a PC fanboy but face it the PC is and will always be the best gaming platform there is because where do you think all the new developments in hardware came from? yes it was the PC with its ground breaking sound and graphics, even the operating system on the consoles are based on current PC and MAC operating systems with different user interfaces
Does Dell covet Apple's design status? 4:07pm on 18 Mar 2009 same old story my mac is better than your pc,

if you look at any pc desktop or laptop they are always priced lower than any mac counter part, however when it comes to Dell machines they are slightly underpowered for the OS pre-installed on them, also show me a mac which can be upgraded by yourself at home. (graphics, sound, ram, processor, hard drive or optical drive)

surprise, surprise there aren’t any so why bother with a machine that becomes out of date by the time you have enough money to pay for it when you can buy a better machine for the same price.
100Mbps broadband - who needs it? 5:32pm on 11 Feb 2009 I think allot of people are missing the point of this blog it is about the broadband speed not whether you need a licence to watch tv online.

Also great to see more people correcting the continuous problem with the incorrect terms being used for file sizes and upstream and downstream speeds.

In addition I have been enjoying my 20MB Cable bb service from Virgin Media for some time now and am looking forward to the 50MB service and will be trying it out when it's available

Mac malware - were we wrong? 4:43pm on 04 Dec 2008 to all you mac users who think they are better than us PC users you will still get the stupid users who open emails form unknown sources and access dodgy websites, but we PC users will always have the last laugh due PC's being able to run either windows or linux and you don't really need a virus scanner the most important software is the firewall which when configured properly will stop anything from trying to damage your system but you also have to have some comon sence which from past experience mac users don't really have.

and before you ask YES i am a PC fanboy
The BBC licence free? 2:49pm on 27 Nov 2008 looking at alot of the comments it seams as though most of you will be happy to pay more for less content, are you mad.

i am tired of paying for a few tv channels and i don't listen to the radio the bbc have been riping us off for longer than i can remember, i don't have to pay for ITV, Channel 4 or Channel 5 as they are self subsidised and i don't have access to freeview and get all my tv viewing through Virgin Media at a high cost.

the changes required are sofware based and not hardware based as the N95 is not much different from the N96 and would only require a quick firmware

however i can confirm the iplayer works without saving content to the N95 8GB
