Nick Griffin on Question Time 4:36pm on 26 Oct 2009 I think someone is protesting too much.

How the show was produced was bound to fuel criticism because in choosing a multi ethnic area in which to hold this Question Time was bound to produce accusations of audience packing, and focusing on Griffin so much was bound to make him look a victim of bullying.

You should have just let him make a fool of himself, rather than playing silly games.

If you are reporting a whole country you need to get out of the bubble. Go have a chat with some real people and you'll find things are very different.
Brand Australia 10:48am on 26 Sep 2009 Governments trying to brand Australia is doomed to failure mainly because it's so unnecessary. If you want to fund the marketing industry there are easier ways.

That said less stereotypical beer adverts might help.

Of course it depends on how you define 'race' but both the Afrikaners and the Jews have distinct cultures, languages, and ethnic make ups things that often are used as determiners of race.

Forgetting that Iran since ancient times has been one of the most imperialist powers in the region the vast majority of Palestinian civilian deaths occurred when host countries like Jordan or Lebanon attacked what had become an enemy within.

Also what happened in Israel is hardly unique as the Germans of Eastern Europe will tell you so why are you so concentrated on this one area?

One thing shared by some of those on the left and fascists is a hatred of Jews, probably because they are associated with business and commerce.

The whole Middle East is a European invention, so why pick one segment of it to criticise?

The Palestinians have received vast amounts of aid to the detriment of many other deserving groups. Perhaps if we invested our aid money in places where they would do some good rather than fund terrorists the world would be a better place.

Well Russia, and China got Security Council seats which could be viewed as congratulations. One thing that is odd is that out of all the countries that have annexed parts of other countries Israel gets so much attention. Why do you think that is?

Obama is a good orator if it is a controlled speech and nothing goes wrong. Any search of YouTube etc will find numerous examples where he falls apart during speeches. He's lucky that a the moment the media likes him and is only reporting the good.

Israel, Pakistan and India weren't allowed to develop them but did. The chap who was supposed to stop them got a Nobel Prize for his work.

Saddam Hussein did have a nuclear weapons programme. He closed it down, we thought he was trying to trick us.

Why? Dictators tend not to invade nuclear powers.

On tonight's show, three things. One, why is a German journalist's opinion worth reporting? Two, why did you spend so long on a play in a regional theatre. I thought R4 had arts shows for that sort of thing. Three, could we just once in the while hear the opinion of a right of centre academic.
How Carolinians see the race row 11:19am on 17 Sep 2009 People don't like Obama's policies, his numbers go down in the polls, then up pops a senior Democrat to call his opponents racist. Sad but predictable as is how so many journalists either can't or don't want to see this for what it is.

32: Both the Democrats and the Republicans have attracted their fair share of racists so it's not one sided. It's easy of course for those in the media to find those fringes and tar a whole party with their views. The Bush administration was very diverse racially, ironically more so than Obama's yet called racist by some. Sadly empty wagons often make the most noise.
Is race a factor in Obama protests? 8:57pm on 16 Sep 2009 Perhaps the US will finally become truly post racial when people can criticise a black politician without being called racists, and when the media stop trying to give credence to the warped views of failed presidents. Thinking that people protesting against Obama are racists says a lot more about you than it does the protesters.
